Friday, September 05, 2025

The conservative news network Newsmax filed an antitrust lawsuit against Fox News on Wednesday, saying Fox has sought to maintain its market dominance through intimidation and exclusionary business practices designed to stifle competition. Fox has sought to block television distributors from carrying Newsmax or minimize its exposure, pressured guests not to appear on the rival network and hired private detectives to investigate Newsmax executives, said the lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court in south Florida. You can't have a monopoly om lying. I can just hear the swearing in of witnesses; "Do you swear to tell the truth, the whole trutg and nothing but the truth?"
Answer: "Of course not, I'd be fired if I did that!"

When FOX had little competition, it siphoned at much support as it was ever going to get from more truthful sources. Now that that well has run dry, and it has competition from other lying outlets, FOX doesn't want to share the space.

Looks like the case was just dismissed.

Judge Aileen Cannon, of the Southern District of Florida, threw out the complaint this week, ruling that Newsmax's filing amounted to a "shotgun pleading."
