... The officials " FDA Commissioner Marty Makary, National Institutes for Health Director Jay Bhattacharya and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Administrator Mehmet Oz " pointed to research they say suggests leucovorin, also known as folinic acid, may help children who are deficient in folate, a vitamin.

They said there was evidence leucovorin, which is currently used to treat cancer and anemia patients, can help children with autism improve their verbal communication.

But they emphasized in the opinion piece that the drug "is not a cure for autism." ...

FDA approves leucovorin as autism treatment
www.newsnationnow.com

... The Food and Drug Administration said Monday it has initiated approval of a folate supplement for patients with a rare neurological condition that causes autism-like symptoms, marking the agency's latest effort to address what officials call a surge in autism diagnoses.

The FDA approved leucovorin calcium tablets for cerebral folate deficiency, a condition that prevents the vitamin folate from reaching the brain. Patients typically experience developmental delays, seizures and movement problems, along with autistic behaviors including social communication difficulties and repetitive actions.

"We have witnessed a tragic fourfold increase in autism over two decades," FDA Commissioner Dr. Marty Makary said in a statement. "Children are suffering and deserve access to potential treatments that have shown promise." ...

Trump Administration Live Updates: President Ignores Science by Linking Autism to Vaccines and a Common Painkiller
www.nytimes.com

... Where Things Stand

Autism: President Trump, speaking at the White House, gave direct and unproven medical advice contradicting decades of research about vaccines and the use of a common painkiller in pregnancy and infancy.

He declared without offering new evidence that there was a link between rising autism rates and the use of acetaminophen, the active ingredient in Tylenol.

But multiple health agencies around the world " including the F.D.A. -- have not found a conclusive link. Medical experts stressed that acetaminophen is safe. ...

Similar to Pres Trump apparently espousing the use of ivermectin, the animal de-worming drug, back in the COVID epidemic days?

But, but, but...

mRNA isn't safe! It wasn't tested enough (billions of people isn't enough?)
Tylenol! It causes autism! (no, it doesn't)
Mife! (decades of use, incredibly well known, risk factor about the same as ibuprofen)
Vaccines cause autism! (I guess that's no longer the cause, because now it's Tylenol! /s)
We have to test and test! None of these drugs have been tested enough! (morons say moronic things)

Now approve leucovorin now for autism right away! We don't have time to test it to see if it really works! And more vitamin B9! We don't have time to test that, but we gotta do something immediately!

This is from our new Trump administration,. With Trump literally saying "Taking Tylenol is not good " I'll say it: It's not good" and flat out "Don't take Tylenol,".

We're going down the shtter really fast.

Trump links autism to Tylenol and vaccines, claims not backed by science
www.reuters.com

... In an extraordinary news conference at the White House, the Republican president delivered medical advice to pregnant women and parents of young children, repeatedly telling them not to use or administer the over-the-counter pain killer. ...

The advice from Trump, who has no medical training and also pointed out "I'm not a doctor," goes against that of medical societies, which cite data from numerous studies showing acetaminophen plays a safe role in the well-being of pregnant women.

"I want to say it like it is, don't take Tylenol. Don't take it," Trump said. "Fight like ---- not to take it. There may be a point where you have to, and that you'll have to work out with yourself, so don't take Tylenol." ...

I'm betting The drooling Orange Turnip has some kind of economic stake in Leucovorin.

I'm going to wait until the experts declare one way or another. Lucky for me I don't think I can have Tylenol.
