If it has not become clear yet from the words of the Trump admin, let me state my view explicitly ...

Pres Trump is looking for reasons to invoke the Insurrect Act, even if he has to provoke those reasons by his actions.


imo, the question has become, why is Pres Trump so focused upon invoking the Insurrection Act without any real reason to do so?

That's an easy one to answer. If he can claim Insurrection, he can delay or eliminate the upcoming vote. Because if he doesn't delay it the writing is on the wall, that he will lose the majority in the two branches he needs to back him up on his insane actions.

Nixon and Kissinger did the exact same thing to get elected and then reelected. Nixon did what he could to provoke protesters, who were outraged at the conduct of the government in the Vietnam War. It took me a long time to understand imperialism, because it was up close in my face.
