Schumer's proposal calls for Democrats to agree to pass a so-called clean resolution that would provide short-term funding for government operations.

In exchange, Republicans would agree to a one-year extension of existing enhanced tax credits that are used to reduce the cost of health insurance purchased on Affordable Care Act marketplaces.

"The other leg of the deal calls for the establishment of a bipartisan committee to continue negotiations on long-term reforms to address the issue of health-care affordability.

"Therefore, we'd like to offer a simple proposal that would reopen the government and extend the ACA premium tax credits simultaneously ... and then have the opportunity to start negotiating longer-term solutions to health care costs," Schumer said."

WHAT? That's crazy talk!

Finding a solution to the problem BEFORE you put millions of people out of Healthcare?

Just plain nuts!

Schumer blinked. He's going to get played and demonstrate why I keep saying he needs to go.

WASHINGTON (AP) " Senate Majority Leader John Thune quickly swatted down a Democratic offer to reopen the government and extend expiring health care subsidies for a year, calling it a "nonstarter" as the partisan impasse over the shutdown continued into its 38th day.

"That's what we're going to negotiate once the government opens up," Thune said after Schumer made his proposal on the floor.

LOL. Sure you are.

Look into the phrase "recission veto," and then tell us, Leader John, why Democrats should just bend over and take it**.....

Well, you know.

Trump & the Republicans cannot be counted on to keep their word.

They have zero integrity.

** "The user's query refers to a 2012 statement by Richard Mourdock, a former Indiana Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate. During his campaign, Mourdock stated that his idea of compromise was for Democrats to join the Republican point of view.

#2 Schumer didn't have to blink.

What Schumer offered might pass the Senate.

But, it will still go nowhere.

Why? you may ask:

Because Speaker Mike (R-Of course) REFUSES to bring the House back into session.

As such, the House will have to be back in session to vote on the supposed Schumer offer, if it passed the Senate.

But the House WILL NOT be back in session, anytime in the foreseeable future.

Because of the Epstein files.
