It's much simpler than that. The Boy Scouts aren't maximally cruel to trans kids and so Republicans believe it should be destroyed.[image or embed] -- Katelyn Burns (@katelynburns.com) Nov 25, 2025 at 8:07 AM

... In the draft, Hegseth alleged the organization has transformed into one designed to "attack boy-friendly spaces," NPR first reported. He reportedly slammed the organization for failing to cultivate "masculine values" and for promoting diversity, equity and inclusion. ... In 2024, the Boy Scouts rebranded to the gender neutral Scouting America. That change, the organization wrote, was meant to "welcome every youth and family in America to experience the benefits of Scouting." Scouting America has existed for 115 years, and the U.S. military has supported it for more than a century. The Pentagon is legally required to provide medical and logistical aid at its National Jamboree, the organization's major membership gathering in West Virginia, held every few years. Hegseth's memo would stop that aid and prohibit Scout troops from meeting at U.S. military installations both domestically and abroad. The draft argues that allowing troops, doctors and supplies to attend the 10-day event in 2026 would be harmful to national security. ...

US Army soldiers and officers would be paid and receive TDY money for attending BSA functions, like the National Jamboree.
I saw it happen.
BSA = FWA

Is there a Drunk Scouts of America that could step up and fill the void, the way alcohol fills the void for alcoholics?

Agreed.
Just look at his "performance" when he summoned America's top military officials back on September 30 to watch his prancing around on the stage.
Yeah, Pres Trump seems to pick admin officials because of their ability to look good on TV. But, I remain to be convinced that is a reason to choose the Sec of Defense for the Country.
The Sep 30 performance on stage seems to add gravity to my concern.

The US doesn't go to war to win anymore. It goes to war to further enrich rich people.

It's now called Scouting America. So it's not a just a"boys organization" anymore.
Whiskey Pete is annoyed by that.
But Whiskey Pete could have never even qualified as a Tenderfoot so his opinion of Scouting is less than worthless.
Much like yours. ...

Why the hell else were we in Afghanistan for 20 years?
One AI snapshot:
"Military contractors made approximately $108 billion directly from contracts for work performed in Afghanistan over the 20 years of US occupation. This figure represents only the contracts specifically tied to operations within Afghanistan and does not include the broader Pentagon spending on weapons and services produced in the US for use in the war. When considering the total Pentagon spending since the start of the Afghanistan war, estimates suggest that one-third to one-half of the $14 trillion spent went to military contractors overall."
