...
This song, a tribute to Indian composer and singer Asha Bhosle ...

[Intro]
"Mai Keha Sadi Asha Jhinah Sadian Sukh Sabelian Nu Din Raat Nu Aoondian Hain, Kimarh Karke"

[Verse 1]
There's dancing, behind movie scenes
Behind the movie scenes - Sadi Rani
She's the one that keeps the dream alive
From the morning, past the evening
Till the end of the light

[Chorus]
Brimful of Asha on the forty-five
Well, it's a brimful of Asha on the forty-five
Brimful of Asha on the forty-five
Well, it's a brimful of Asha on the forty-five

[Verse 2]
And dancing, behind movie scenes
Behind those movie screens - Asha Bhosle
She's the one that keeps the dream alive
From the morning, past the evening
Till the end of the light

[Chorus]
Brimful of Asha on the forty-five
Well, it's a brimful of Asha on the forty-five
Brimful of Asha on the forty-five
Well, it's a brimful of Asha on the forty-five

[Verse 3]
And singing, illuminate the main streets and the cinema aisles
We don't care about no government warning
About that promotion of the simple life
And the dams they're building

...

[Post Chorus]
Everybody needs a bosom for a pillow
Everybody needs a bosom
Everybody needs a bosom for a pillow
Everybody needs a bosom
Everybody needs a bosom for a pillow
Everybody needs a bosom
Mine's on the forty-five

P - Michael Stipe (1995)

An interesting tune about a leading member of R.E.M.

P is a remnant of the group -------- Surfers.

-------- Surfers - Pepper (1996)
www.youtube.com

Lyrics excerpt ...

genius.com

...
[Verse 1]
Marky got with Sharon, Sharon got Cherese
She was sharing Sharon's outlook on the topic of disease
Mikey had a facial scar and Bobby was a racist
They were all in love with dyin', they were doing it in Texas
Tommy played piano like a kid out in the rain
And then he lost his leg in Dallas, he was dancing with a train
They were all in love with dyin', they were drinking from a fountain
That was pouring like an avalanche comin' down the mountain

[Chorus]
I don't mind the sun sometimes
The images it shows
I can taste you on my lips
And smell you in my clothes
Cinnamon and sugary
And softly spoken lies
You never know just how to look
Through other people's eyes

[Verse 2]
Some will die in hot pursuit in fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit while sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life and drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche comin' down the mountain

[Chorus]
I don't mind the sun sometimes
The images it shows
I can taste you on my lips
And smell you in my clothes
Cinnamon and sugary
And softly spoken lies
You never know just how you look
Through other people's eyes
...

Heavy stuff.

David Bowiw - Within You

How you turn my world, you precious thing
You starve and near exhaust me
Everything I've done, I've done for you
I move the stars for no one

You've run so long, you've run so far
Your eyes can be so cruel
Just as I can be so cruel
Oh, I do believe in you
Yes, I do

Live without your sunlight
Love without your heartbeat
I, I can't live within you

I can't live within you

I, I can't live within you

It's funny that the -------- Surfers had a radio hit, and of all their songs it's that one.

It's kinda like Zappa's only hit was Valley Girl.

Velvet Underground, "Some Kinda Love":

youtu.be

Some kinds of love
Margarita told Tom
Between thought and expression
Lies a lifetime
Situations arise
Because of the weather
And no kinds of love
Are better than others

Some kinds of love
Margarita told Tom
Like a dirty French novel
The absurd courts the vulgar
And some kinds of love
The possibilities are endless
And for me to miss one
Would seem to be groundless

I heard what you said
Margarita heard Tom
And of course you're a boy
But in that you're not charmless
'Cause a boy is a straight line
That finds a wealth in division
And some kinds of love
Are mistaken for vision

Put jelly on your shoulder
Let us do what you fear most,
That from which you recoil
But which still makes your eyes moist

Put jelly on your shoulder, baby
Lie down upon the carpet
Between thought and expression
Let us now kiss the culprit

I don't know just what it's all about
Just put on your red pajamas and find out

All I Have To Do Is Dream " The Everly Brothers {DES Stereo} 1958

Smurfstools Oldies Music Time Machine

1958......#1 U.S. Billboard Hot 100, #1 U.S. Cash Box Top 100, #1 UK Singles Chart, #1 Canada, #3 Australia, #1 New Zealand

Original video edited and remastered with HQ stereo sound / This DES stereo video has been abridged to support the hard work of its creators.

The best-known version was recorded by the Everly Brothers at RCA Studios Nashville and released as a single in April 1958. It was recorded by them in only two live takes on March 6, 1958, and features Chet Atkins on guitar.

The B-side, "Claudette", was the first major song writing success for Roy Orbison (who also recorded his own version of the song) and was named after his first wife. As a result of this success Orbison terminated his contract with Sun Records and affiliated himself with the Everly's publisher, Acuff-Rose Music. (excerpts)

To me, this song was about 10 years ahead of it's time; it was old when I first started listening to it.
