Interesting how hard AR pistols are targeted. Can't say I disagree with that and I will be surprised if SCOTUS takes meaningful action against it.
But there are other parts that I think could be struck down based on previous decisions.

Frightening that AR pistols are heavily targeted in this bill?

In other news, the RCMP were supposed to stop by today to pick up some guns, but it looks like they got caught up in the snow event.

@#4 ... Frightening that AR pistols are heavily targeted in this bill? ...
thx for calling out my comment. I erred. I should have been more verbose.
When I said, "frightening" I was thinking more of the political ramifications of the bill, and not the use of the gun ramifications.
When it comes to gun-control, sometimes I get too tied up in the politics of the matter,
fwiw, my view is that I am not against the ownership of guns by US citizens. But I also want such ownership to be based upon sanity.
And that sanity seems to be what our laws have trouble with.

Didn't really call it out as I wasn't sure what you meant.
What political ramification do you find frightening?

Say what you really mean...
Strangely enough, I know multiple people who own them that are very much not that class of people and I regularly leave the range I shoot at because hick as white boys show up with them and start spraying and praying with mag dump after mag dump.

@#8 ... What political ramification do you find frightening? ...
Republicans (and their financiers, a.k.a.the NRA) exploiting it as a reason for gaining votes.
A lot of what the Republicans have been doing regarding guns of late is frightening to me.
And when the NRA is involved...
Well, do I need to bring up Maria Butina, and the videos?
But, that's likely a different thread...

I'm still not sure I follow.
You think such focused targeting will result in a significant windfall for the Repubs in November and beyond?

@#11 ... You think such focused targeting will result in a significant windfall for the Repubs in November and beyond? ...
Do I think that?
Possibly.
Do I have a serious concern about that?
Yes.
Might the Republicans try to use this issue to distract voters from other issues that are not, let's say, popular for Republicans?
In my view, it is Politics 101.
Focus upon what the voters want you to say.
On the other hand, the race for the replacement of MTG in Georgia looks interesting....
