"This is a Schumer motion to suspend the rules and refer the House message, the bill that we're on, to the Rules Committee, which doesn't have jurisdiction over appropriations or spending, and he's trying to call it a vote to fund TSA?" Thune said on the floor.

"I don't know how you come up with this. I will give you credit for coming up with something that's convoluted, but it doesn't do anything that the [Democratic] leader says it does," he added.

Schumer framed the vote as a simple "yes or no" on whether TSA agents should get funded during the shutdown.

"If senators want to pay TSA workers and end the airport chaos, they should support my motion," he said.

Thune, however, countered that Democrats on Friday voted for a fifth time to block a House-passed bill to fund the entire Department of Homeland Security, including TSA.

The dems would gladly stretch this out to midterms.
They would have people upset in order to toggle the seesaw.
Meanwhile the billionaires actually in charge are not concerned with the position of the seesaw.

The decomposing orange pedo is hoping his ICE goons turn airports into kill zones.

@winterlxxvii

Hear me out.

Project 2025 explicitly calls for TSA to be privatized but it cannot happen until unionized TSA agents are eliminated.

So here's the play - defund DHS, agents without pay will quit, airport security breaks down / massive delays, send ICE to "help", push the narrative that this crisis requires privatization (framed as no cost to taxpayers), private contractors come in, TSA unions are eliminated and ICE becomes a permanent presence in American airports.

The end.

Good.

Americans don't want their money going to ICE.

America was better off before the DHS was created.

Maybe Kristi Noem should return all the money she wasted.

Hey sockpuppet, what was your prior username before everyone plonked you and you got banned?

DHS has continued to pay ICE and the National Guard, they've chosen not to pay TSA.

Dems have voted to fund TSA 7 times.

Republicans want TSA to fall apart so some billionaire can buy the contract and Trump can funnel billions in tax payer dollars to them.

Even someone as ignorant as you knows that's what's happening.

But I expect you only come here to troll.

If they want so badly to nut ice et al, there's a legislative path for that, instead of simple redesigning dhs on the fly illegally.

Hey Johnny_Stupid,

Congress drafted bipartisan legislation to fund the TSA.

Trump demanded republicans kill it.
