More from the article ...

... Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said the army and police had found two backpacks containing explosives Sunday near a gas pipeline to Hungary, prompting Hungary's Prime Minister Viktor Orban to call an emergency meeting.

Hungary's opposition leader Peter Magyar however suggested the incident could be a "false flag" operation staged to disrupt next Sunday's high-stakes elections in their country.

The backpacks, containing "two large packages of explosives with detonators", were found in Kanjiza in northern Serbia, "a few hundred metres from the gas pipeline", Vucic said. ...

But his opposition rival Magyar, in a post on X, expressed scepticism about the incident.

"For weeks, we've been receiving warnings from multiple sources that... Orban -- allegedly with Serbian and Russian assistance -- may be planning to cross another line," he posted on X.

"Many people have suggested that something might 'accidentally' happen in Serbia, possibly involving a gas pipeline, around Easter," he added, calling to be included in the national defence council meeting. ...

I wouldn't put it past Trump to mount a false flag operation before November's election. Orban might be doing the same here. He's in as as deep a hole before Hungary's election as MAGA currently is here.

Hungary election polls show opposition Tisza widening lead over Orban's Fidesz

Centre-right Tisza, led by former government insider Peter Magyar, had the support of 56% of decided voters, up from 53% in early March, while 37% backed Fidesz, down from 39% three weeks ago, a poll by 21 Research Centre showed.

BTW, Magyar's name is pronounced like "mayor."

One of my wife's clients, also named Magyar, is from Hungary. I'm going with how he pronounces it :-)

He may have Americanized the pronounciation. It's probably a pronounciation only a Hungarian can master, anyway.

BTW, I read, years ago, Hungarian has no etymology in other languages like Latin, Franc, etc. I have another friend who's parents emigrated here from Hungary. I've had some GREAT goulash and other Hungarian delicacies at their house.

I've had it! My wife's client is a different person than my friend whose folks emigrated here from Hungary 40 years ago. She's the one who's cooked a lot of Hungarian food for me and her husband.

Glad you enjoyed the horse radish soup, AU.

The Hungarian language is part of the ancient Uralic-Altaic branch and therefore related to Finnish and Turkish, but none of them could probably understand each other today.

Nevertheless, when the USSR brutally invaded Finland in the "Winter War" (1939-40), a minimum of 400 Hungarians volunteered to fight in the Finnish Army.

Finland's Scandinavian neighbors also allowed volunteers to go and fight, even though they officially stayed neutral.

Incredibly, during the Second World War Sweden covertly helped Norway to their west against Nazi Germany (an Axis power) while simultaneously secretly helping the Finns to their east against the USSR (an Allied power).

The robust thread on "Escalating Violence Against Christians in Israel" was closed.

I have noticed during my short tenure on drudge.com that threads seem to soon close soon after "Cutiepie" makes one of her rare and densely-packed appearances on our modest blogsite, like a hit-and-run accident.

In the world of counterintelligence investigations or counter-terrorism operations, this is called "pattern analysis."

You can check for yourself if you don't believe me.

I recall a couple of documentaries I've watched about the resistance blowing up NAZI sites in Norway. I'm 95% Swede and 5% Norwegian on my father's side (they lived close to the border), with Scandinavian (Viking) ancestry on my mother's side as well through my great-grandpas Rollo and William The Conquerer.

Just looked. This is one of the documentaries:
