... Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on Monday met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in St. Petersburg, with the Russian president telling the Iranian diplomat that he hoped for peace soon.

Moscow, an ally of Iran, has so far resisted being drawn into the Middle East conflict as it continues with its full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

But Putin on Monday offered support to Iran, saying that he was hoping for peace soon and that Iran would navigate this "difficult period" of war, according to Russia's state news agency.

"For our part, we will do everything that serves your interests, the interests of all the people of the region, so that peace can be achieved as soon as possible," the RIA news agency quoted Putin as saying during his meeting with Araghchi. ...

I wonder if they have some kind of pre-existing military deal...

"Iran has provided substantial military support to Russia for its war in Ukraine, acting as a key supplier of Shahed-136/131 one-way attack drones, Mohajer-6 combat UAVs, and ammunition. Iran also helped establish production lines for these drones in Russia."

Ya knowwwwwwwww... in this leg of human history... Iran and Russia go back... a ways... 1992-ish...? Russia built their nuke power plant in Bueshehr... sooooooooo

It all started right after Regeagoonitunes "fixed all things wrong with Russia"... and we were still spatting with Komenhi... Paving the way for Putzman to patch up old wounds with Iran... seeing us as their common enemy... Bushturds were schmoozing Saddam... while Russia was getting its @$$ beat in Afghanistan...we took credit for their defeat under the leadership of Osama bin Laden... brother of a Bushturd business partner... who died suspiciously... then we fought a televised war in Iraq to avoid focusing on bin Laden... we lost both wars.. led by our first preznit with one of the most prestigious bizness degree his daddy could buy his mediocre son...

sound familiar?

What tangled web they weave...

At this point, we better hope Trump is Putin's pet.

Because otherwise we're screwed. Trump and his band of idiot misfits don't have the deft hand of a statesman nor the quick mind of a true military strategist. There will be no working it out nor will there be an avoidance of wider hostilities (ie WWIII) if Russia and China begin to be more aggressive in their backing of Iran.

Those idiots know one thing - bully tactics. They are the worst possible people to be in charge during tense, globally critical times.
