During a Democratic Party POTUS debate on 27 June 2019, Kamala Harris (D-CA) tagged former VPOTUS Joe Biden (D-DE) for his abysmal 1970s record on racial desegregation. The attack came after Biden came under harsh criticism for boasting about his ability to form personal relationships with race-baiting former Senators James Eastland (D-MS) and Herman Talmadge (D-GA). "It was hurtful," Harris said, to hear Biden speak of his bonds with those racist senators. Senator Harris then related the story of a little girl who was in an early wave of children to integrate schools in California, ending the anecdote with these words: "That little girl was me." To better understand the bigoted white Catholic milieu that Joe Biden grew up with in Scranton, PA (before his family moved to Claymont, DE in 1953), watch That Championship Season (1982) starring Robert Mitchum, Stacy Keach, Bruce Dern, Martin Sheen, and Paul Sorvino (71% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes). |
