Similar to Brave New World, we would have a caste system: Oligarchs, Engineers/Doctors/IT Techies, Guardians, and we the Masses.

In mafia parlance, IRGC-QF Major General Qassem Soleimani's assassination "crossed a line" with the Iranians. During WWII, General George Patton was a High Value Target (HVT) and legitimate target of the enemy, like General Erwin Rommel was an HVT for the Allies. But had "Old Blood and Guts" been assassinated by Nazi resistance fighters after the war ended (AKA the "Werewolves"), the American public would have been pissed and called for their blood. The US was not in a Congressionally-declared war with Iran when Trumpf, in true mafia form, ordered the hit on MG Soleimani (who was a beloved hero and effective anti-ISIS commander). As we'd be pissed if someone took a shot at Obama, the Iranians are pissed that Trumpf and the neo-cons whacked Soleimani.

There are so many recovery issues for the US and Americans after Trumpf, history can only offer us some clues. Post WWII Japan and West Germany were forgiven after the war crimes trials and rehabilitated into the West after about 15-20 years. Politically, that could be possible for the US. But the economic damage to our social safety nets and loss of our public spaces and natural resources will be irrevocable. Everything will be privatized. My Canadian friends liked Joe Biden, but consider him a doorstep between two Trumpf regimes and wonder why in four years the US couldn't stifle Trumpf. I explained the corruption of our judges and court system. I guess the Canadian judicial system is less corrupt than our politically-appointed judges, like SCOTUS wannabe Judge Aileen Cannon.

Tonight I spoke with two Canadian friends and they think the boycott is a great idea. Perhaps the last time Americans experienced such internal animus towards each other was 1860. Back then, racial superiority was the divider, taught in schools and churches and handed down generationally as the norm. John Brown and abolitionists fought against the injustice of slavery before the Civil War which tore families apart. Other countries experienced Civil Wars (Russia, England, post-WWI Europe, Ireland), but only the US Civil War was over race. South Africa escaped apartheid without a race war. Years of rightwing radio, Fox News, and manipulative religious leaders have brought the same level of hatred back to America, led by Trumpf. So, today's MAGA mentality is tearing families apart, creating dysfunction where it shouldn't be, perhaps like it was in 1860.

These Soldiers sold out their country for 30 pieces of silver. Prison time, dishonorable discharge, no future for them.

The importance of "taking back the country," meaning putting a white man in the White House, overrode all rational thinking from these voters. Race and symbolism were important for these people until they realized they were in the same economic boat as people of color, migrants, and the under-privileged. So, Republican voters with buyer's regret: Welcome to the plantation and the world of poverty. But at least you have your white man in the White House.

Hi Snoofy. In the firing squad one of the marksmen is given a powerful blank cartridge allowing him to think he wasn't the one who killed the convict. Men with consciences all walk away from the execution saying: "I had the blank" to avoid guilty pangs. The Russian system was one bullet to the back of the head or neck, but that executioner must have no conscience.
