Lawson Whiting said it was a "disproportionate response" to Trump's tariffs.

"I mean, that's worse than a tariff, because it's literally taking your sales away, (and) completely removing our products from the shelves," said Whiting during a post-earnings call, according to Reuters.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA

Thanks for posting. Good for Canadians standing up to Godzilla. In 2024, Donald Trumpf won Tennessee with 64.19% of the vote.

Some local distilleries owned by American families for generations (cue violins) go out of business.
Some are bought up by megacorps and oligarchs for pennies on the dollar.

And the jobs that are lost,
They don't come back.

Now that's running the country like a business!

Asymmetric economic warfare will easily defeat the ham-handed dealings of the current administration. How long will it be before US businesses impacted by El Rey Dotardo II raise their voices? I think not long, as soon as those businesses realize the muzzles they are wearing snap right off, just like in the Far Side cartoon ...

On the upside, Jack is paint thinner. and I wish nothing but good health to our Northern neighbors.

FDT started this nonsense, but he's not man enough to finish it. Thinks he can declare tariffs on everything and then change his mind ... Canada is giving him a dose of "Find out," and I'm here for it.

According to Cipolla:

A stupid person is one who causes harm to another person or group without at the same time obtaining a benefit for himself or even damaging himself.

In this case, FDT is not stupid, he's clearly benefitting from everything he's doing, financially and criminally. The true stupid in the USA is MAGA cultists, because none of the s"t that's happening right now benefits Americans and they are taking us (the non-brainwashed cult members) down with them.

Kentucky can suck it up, they are an economic powerhouse, right? They don't benefit from the taxes of Californians at all, right? MAGA wants to burn it down, I have no problem starting with MAGA livelihoods.

Tennessee can suck it up, too. They'll be fine under their MAGALords and the incel clown posse that's wiping out entire systems still...

Jack Daniels is owned by Brown and Foreman a mega distiller that owns 25% of the global whiskey market with $4 BILLION in sales annually.

Don't really feel bad for them.

If Trump's territorial ambitions are any guide, Canada may be the next Ukraine.

Whaaa!

Didn't these stores already pay for the products they are removing from their shelves? It's a bit like buying a case of bud and shooting it up. You have to buy it first.

These companies will only lose money if Canadians quit buying these products. Removing them from the shelves is only symbolic. The products were already paid for unless they are on commission. And I don't think alcohol is allowed to be sold on commission.

The only worse drink is canadian whiskey. Mix it with your pop eh, blow up. Oh wait- no more US pop for you, no more sickly sweet 7&7.

Kinda hard to buy it if it's not on the shelf. They did the same thing with Russian Standard vodka after Putin's ill-fated invasion.

What? The invasion that had Trump calling Putin a "Savvy Genius!!!"

Putin played the long game.

Got Biden bogged down in the war and now he has Trump handing him the Ukraine with a bow on top.

Lack of choice is a great motivator.

Apparently it's not just Ontario. I just got back from my local store in BC and the shelves are empty here as well.
