In a trillion dollar economy these amounts may seem small, but they will have some economic impact. More importantly, the psychological impact will be much more effective. Plus, MLB and the owners will have to scramble and find 162 replacement games (out of a total 2,430 games), which will scramble their schedule.

They should move batting practice to the Oval Office.

I'd be cool with that!

Hi Corky. Why not? How much further can the Oval Office be despoiled with Trumpf's odious presence there?

True... the WH would have to be fumigated first!

I was a big baseball fan as a little kid; Maris and Mantle were all over the news... but I started Pop Warner football about that time, and never really played the game.

I like the symbolic gesture, but the owners aren't going to kill themselves over this.

Hi Eberly: Such a symbolic boycott would serve as a reminder to the American people of what a buffoon Trumpf is. Since he is all about image, a boycott would be six months of negative messaging about Trumpf that he is not omnipotent. Most MLB owners are wealthy GOP, so let them deal with the mess a Toronto Blue Jays boycott would cause. Link: frontofficesports.com

You mean you wish this would serve as a reminder to the American people of what a buffoon Trump is.

But it won't.

Sans the ownership group (maybe), Americans will just either stay hating Trump or just start hating the Toronto Blue Jays.

It's business suicide if the BlueJays did this. I have no idea what it would cost but I suspect the ownership group has already addressed this......and the message is along these lines "Don't even ------- think about boycotting any games blah blah blah....you'll be thrown out of the league, forced to sell, etc".

And that's even if MLB has ANY fans left in the BlueJays if they did this.

No........no chance this happens.

Yes, all the teams should boycott the baseball season. Then all the teams should boycott the hockey season next.

At this point, I'd tend to agree.

The mega-sports-industry is concerned about profits, little else.

So, will they Toronto Blue Jays owners chose a loss of profits over a statement?
