175 Ukrainian soldiers were released after a one-for-one prisoner trade with Russia. Another 22 Ukrainian service members returned through negotiations outside of the one-for-one swap. "This is one of the largest exchanges. Our soldiers, sergeants and officers are returning. The soldiers who fought for our freedom in the Armed Forces, Navy, National Guard, Territorial Defense Forces and Border Guard," President Volodomir Zelensky stated. These 175 Ukrainian POWs are lucky to be alive because elements of the Russian forces have been torturing and executing prisoners since Putin launched his invasion in Feb 2022: news.un.org read more
Louisiana executed a man convicted of murder with nitrogen gas on Tuesday evening " the state's first execution in 15 years and its first using the largely-untested method " after a raging legal battle that ended with a gas mask strapped over his face in the Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola death chamber. State officials pronounced Jessie Hoffman Jr. dead at 6:50 p.m. Tuesday at Angola. He inhaled pure nitrogen gas through a mask strapped to his face for 19 minutes while pinned to a gurney, officials said, until oxygen deprivation caused him to die. Officials acknowledged that Hoffman showed "convulsive activity" as he died and that he moved and shook. d.lawyerherald.com read more
Over the past two years, Russia has significantly increased sabotage against European countries that support Ukraine. The number of attacks on critical infrastructure quadrupled in 2023 and tripled in 2024. Moscow is waging a covert campaign against submarine cables, warehouses, and rail networks in Europe in an attempt to put pressure on the West. Saboteur activity has decreased in recent weeks against the backdrop of US diplomatic efforts to end the war. Experts predict that attacks may resume after the adoption of new European decisions on assistance to Ukraine. Poland blamed Russia for the fire at this Warsaw shopping center pictured below. Who dominates Republicans (besides lawyers, CEOs, and oligarchs)? Vladimir Putin, of course: thehill.com
Hi Snoofy. Of course! Jump into the WWI meat grinder for Mother Russia! Getting killed, maimed, or becoming pashtet to re-take Ukraine will really improve the lives of simple Russians who just want to live and raise families. The average lifespan of a Russian soldier on the Ukrainian front is four hours: www.businessinsider.com
Hi Reinheitsgebot. Thank you for not re-posting #2's comments in the thread. I cannot see it, nor do I want to see it, as no doubt they came from a troll or MAGA supporter. On strictly simple transactional issues such as this, no one should presume Putin is a good faith negotiator. This prisoner exchange simply means Putin wanted some of the captured Russians returned. Tiny (but wealthy) UAE has been involved in Ukrainian-Russian negotiations for these types of prisoner swaps. So, why did Trumpf and Putin choose Saudi Arabia (led by murderous Muhammad Bin Salman) to hold "peace talks" a few weeks ago? www.khaleejtimes.com
#9: Hi Corky: Thanks for the Axios link. There may be another layer to this drama. There is a suspected Yale fraternity connection (Skull and Bones and/or Greek three-letter) between Brett Kavanaugh and former D/FBI Christopher Wray. This may be why the FBI gave Kavanaugh a light investigation during his SCOTUS confirmation. Judge Boasberg may also be a fraternity member if they were close. GOP be hanged, the Yale secret societies and fraternities are loyal to each other first and foremost: media.tenor.com
Russia has lost 897,010 troops in Ukraine since the beginning of its full-scale invasion on 24 Feb 2022. The number includes 1,560 casualties suffered just over the past day according to the General Staff of Ukraine Armed Forces.
Russia has also lost 10,352 tanks, 21,509 armored fighting vehicles, 40,892 vehicles and fuel tanks, 24,640 artillery systems, 1,319 multiple launch rocket systems, 1,107 air defense systems, 370 airplanes, 331 helicopters, 29,616 drones, 28 ships and boats, and one submarine.
This has been quite an expensive war for the Pariah State in terms of population, materiel, morale, and international reputation. No doubt Vladimir Putin enjoyed reading about US military casualties and costs in Iraq and Afghanistan, only to find he vastly surpassed US losses in only three years.

GOP depravity will be a bottomless cup of bad coffee until 2028. A blue wave in the 2026 mid-term elections can dilute some of Trumpf's toxicity. PS: I wonder what the Heisman Award-winning USFL/NFL player and now Ambassador to the Bahamas thinks of this treachery against Jackie Robinson? d.newsweek.com
#15 I agree, showing tapes of Trumpf doing all sorts of things won't affect his supporters. He'll say it's AI-generated and the Kool-Aid drinkers will believe it. A combination of financial entanglements (e.g. Alfa Bank) and fear may be driving Trumpf. Putin (or his handlers preceding him in the 1980s) warned him the KGB doesn't forget or forgive. While Trumpf may enjoy USSS protection, his properties and extended family are vulnerable and could get whacked in the future. The long list of Russians falling out of windows or getting Novichok cocktails are a reminder to Trumpf. en.wikipedia.org

Here is another example of carnage thanks to the Kremlin. Lithuanian authorities assess that Russian military intelligence organized and funded the Ikea store arson attack in Vilnius in 2024. The main suspect in the incident engaged with "Russian military and security services" and accepted payment as part of a terrorist organization plotting attacks in both Lithuania and Latvia. The two IRS tools were only promoted to Senior Adviser for witch-hunting Hunter Biden? I would have thought Trumpf would put their sorry white faces on either US or crypto currency for their gallantry: backend.royanews.tv
Thank goodness the US has Independents and several political parties like Libertarians, Greens, Right-to-Lifers, the American Independent Party, or the American Socialists, anyone of whose members could have been behind this dastardly deed against Tesla, otherwise people would automatically blame the Democrats: media.tenor.com
#6: My friend's wife teaches in northern Virginia and she's happy to spend her own money, but it's not a lot. BTW: When I grew up in NYC decades ago, there was one special ed teacher for the entire school (from what I remember). Now I'm advised there are several special ed teachers per school in NYC. Either there is an increase in autism or autism was always around, but not well-diagnosed.
