I'm not a big fan of the death penalty, but the Rolling Stone article was just bizarre. It suggests the men on death row are "frightened" victims of circumstance.. The author glosses over the fact that every person on death row has been accused of a heinous murder, unanimously convicted and upheld through multiple appeals.

As a society that has the death penalty it's easy to write off these people has having no value. Yes some of them come from an ok home life growing up but many of them did not. It's easy for us just to go they deserve what is coming for them because our compassion levels in this country are not as great as they should be. Yes these people are extremely flawed individuals. We don't often ask why they do the killings that sent them to death row. It's hard to put a human face to such monsters. Something made them this way. I'm 100% Anti capital punishment so I don't believe we have the right to kill them either. If killing is wrong. Which it is as a form of punishment. Yes I believe in self defense. Don't get it twisted. This isn't self defense however. Just sayin

Like Capitalism isn't rife with the same problems. The rich get rich and the poor get poorer. Not to mention how many are killed just to keep capitalism going. How many did we kill in Iraq just so capitalists could make their monies in the war plus monies on controlling the oil supply of their country. You act as though Capitalism is utopia but it's not. It's just what we are used to that's all.
