Take from the poor and give to the rich...just another step in the long march to turning America back to first, the 1950's, then the 1850's. You cannot have an educated populace and have them quiet under domination by the oligarch caste...so scratch the education to help kids learn how to be courageous enough to think for themselves, not just parrot nonsense back. There is no god, so forcing those not of that mindset to bend a knee is anti-American. (See, there is a Constitution, and within it, it is mandated that no religion be established...).

How much have test score scores gone up since the Department of education was created in the late 1970s?

Hey kids, if mommy and daddy can't afford your collrge expenses then go get a low wage job and shut up. College is for the wealthy not the riff raff like the vast majority of Trump voters. In short; No more Federal Student Loans; i.e.: no college for working class kids but the good side of that it will insure that all the management positiobs will be filled by the children of the wealthy thereby preserving economic aristocracy in America. No more uppity black people working their way up the ladder. No more guys like J.D. Vance who escaped poverty and went to Yale and then forgot all the people he left behind; reminiscent of the 1950's when America was "Great" for those who could afford iy! Trump's new slogan: "Make America Great fo Those Who Can Afford It! F**k Everyone Else!"

What's your plan to lower tuition prices? Throwing endless "free" money at the universities obviously hasn't worked.

The Department of Education did not become an operating Cabinet position until 1980. The history of the Department of Education goes back to nearly the Civil War!
Test scores go up/down for a multitude of reasons. Any valid comparison of data requires (at a minimum!) the inclusion of a control group. That's just basic Scientific Method 101. That said, for a "quickie analysis" one only has to peruse the effects of the disruption of the educational system during the COVID epidemic.
