As it is, IRS regulations that incentivize companies to outsource remain on the books. Also, companies can still move those factories to some other country that have not been targeted with tariffs.

BTW: When I grew up in NYC decades ago, there was one special ed teacher for the entire school (from what I remember). Now I'm advised there are several special ed teachers per school in NYC. Same goes for our military where foreign nations trusted us to protect them and made lucrative deals with us for those minerals and precious metals.

Both of those are gone.

Many smaller countries now will trade those minerals and precious metals to the EU, Russia and China.

US companies and even the US military will be entirely dependent on foreign powers.
