I too was stuck in Canada once upon a time but I had no lawyers or media attention and eventually left the freezing cell of a country and returned to the US.

Courts aren't the law. They're supposed to uphold the law, not block upholding the law which is all they've been doing. We don't elect judges to set policy, we elect representatives and the president to do that, judges have NO SAY in policy at all because the people have no way to get rid of them via elections. If judges are somehow the end all be all of everything then there really is no need for Congress or the presidency to even exist because all policy would just come from the courts and whatever they decide.
