The man behind JFK's speeches, witticisms, and talking points was Ted Sorensen.

I don't think young James Talarico is relying on anyone for his messaging other than the Gospel.

As a US Senator for Massachusetts, JFK could not pass Eleanor Roosevelt's simple purity test of publicly condemning Sen Joe McCarthy (R-WI) for his career-destroying Communist witch-hunts.

The Kennedy and the McCarthy families-- Irish Catholics-- were friends.

JFK reluctantly and finally did condemn "Tail-Gunner Joe" in a mild rebuke in 1959 or 1960 before his POTUS campaign.

As a US Senator, JFK identified himself as a "Democrat," not a "liberal."

Some senior Democrats did not vote for JFK to be POTUS in Nov 1960 because of that and other peccadillos.

JFK as POTUS helped the civil rights leaders as a ways and means of securing their votes, but he did not like the tensions MLK Jr and the Freedom Riders were causing with the Dixiecrats.

RFK called several civil rights leaders and asked them to stop their sit-ins and protests before his brother's first meeting with Soviet Premier Nikita Krushchev, arguing that they were embarrassing and undermining the POTUS. MLK Jr responded by saying that Bobbie was "tone deaf." [sic]

I don't think James Talarico or NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani (D) would take approach to civil rights.

To avoid looking like another American civil war, USAG RFK deployed US Marshals to protect blacks from violent segregationists rather than have JFK send the US military to protect them. That move appeased the Dixiecrats.

In private, JFK swore like the sailor he once was and he enjoyed dirty jokes-- I don't think James Talarico does either.

JFK also had a temper and only his White House aides or family saw or heard his explosions of anger.

James Talarico doesn't seem to be the type to get angry. He's forgiving.

JFK regularly cheated on his wife and the First Lady knew all about the affairs.

I don't think James Talarico is the cheating type.
