Hours after allegedly killing a Minnesota state representative and her husband, Vance Boelter sent a text to his wife telling her to flee. In a newly unsealed affidavit obtained by The New York Times, FBI agent Terry Getsch described the message the suspect sent to Jenny Boelter, 51. "The text stated something to the effect of they should prepare for war, they needed to get out of the house, and people with guns may be showing up to the house," he wrote. After discovering the text last Saturday while searching for the killer, law enforcement pulled over Jenny Boelter's car, the Times reported. Naved Durrni (34) was charged with assault in the first degree as a hate crime and other charges for allegedly repeatedly and ferociously punching and kicking a 55-year-old Muslim woman aboard a subway. The defendant asked a woman, who was wearing a head covering, if she was a Muslim and proceeded to attack her. Durrni allegedly slapped and punched her on the face multiple times then kicked the woman in the face with his heavy work boots before fleeing the scene. The defendant was apprehended by police several blocks away from the attack. The woman suffered a fracture to her nasal bone, a fracture to her orbital bone as well as substantial pain, bruising, and swelling and was treated at a local hospital. Douglas Wayne Cornett (58) of Ruther Glen, VA, pleaded guilty to federal hate crimes charges for trying to kill two Latino victims. On the evening of 28 Feb 2024, Cornett followed a box truck driven by 'O.G.', an adult Latino male, into the Sheetz gas station along I-95 in Spotsylvania County, VA. Cornett then asked 'J.M.', an adult Latino male and a friend of 'O.G.', how long 'O.G.' had been present in the US. Upon learning that 'O.G.' had arrived within the last two years, Cornett drew a handgun and fired six rounds, striking 'O.G.' three times and 'J.M.' once. Cornett later confessed to a county deputy to shooting the victims because they were 'illegals.' This homicidal white supremacist will be sentenced on 13 Nov. China's military has called a British warship's recent passage through the Taiwan Strait a disruptive act of "intentional provocation" that "undermines peace and stability". The British Royal Navy says HMS Spey's patrol on Wednesday was part of a long-planned deployment and was in accordance with international law.
