President Donald Trump on Tuesday confused Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem with a professional golfer while Noem was just feet away. The gaffe occurred as Trump reading from a list introduced some of his top officials amid the signing of an executive order establishing a task force for the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. "Secretary of Homeland Security Cristie Kerr," Trump said, mistakenly referring to the LPGA golfer instead of Noem.

US Senator Adam Schiff (D-CA) is being criminally investigated for possible mortgage fraud. The Federal Housing Finance Agency made a criminal referral to the DOJ, accusing Schiff of altering bank documents and property records in several cases to secure more favorable loan terms. Schiff allegedly has claimed both his Burbank and Maryland homes as his primary residences in order to get more favorable mortgage rates. FHFA Director William Pulte said, "Based on media reports, Mr. Adam B. Schiff has, in multiple instances, falsified bank documents and property records to acquire more favorable loan terms, impacting payments from 2003-2019 for a Potomac, MD-based property. As regulator of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and the Federal Home Loan Banks, we take very seriously allegations of mortgage fraud or other criminal activity. Such misconduct jeopardizes the safety and soundness of FHFA's regulated entities and the security and stability of the US mortgage market," Pulte added. Read more

Ukrainian counterintelligence services are investigating the infiltration of Latin American drug cartel members into the country's International Legion, with operatives seeking advanced drone training to later deploy against rivals and security forces in their home countries. The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) launched a joint investigation with military intelligence after Mexico's National Intelligence Center warned in early summer that Mexican volunteers had joined Ukraine's foreign fighter units specifically to acquire first-person view (FPV) drone capabilities. The probe has since expanded to include Colombian nationals, raising concerns about Ukraine's inadvertent role as a training ground for transnational criminal organizations. Mexican drug cartels have been using FPVs to drop hand grenades on their enemies, including killing some luckless Mexican soldiers. Read more

President Donald Trump detoured from touting his tariff-based economic policies to make a plainly racist claim about migrant laborers during his Tuesday morning appearance on CNBC's "Squawk Box."

Echoing the bigotry of centuries past, the president claimed that migrants are uniquely suited to physically strenuous farm work, asserting that it comes "naturally" to them.

"We're taking care of our farmers. We can't let our farmers not have anybody. ... These people, you can't replace them very easily," Trump said on CNBC. "These people do it naturally " naturally," he said of the migrant laborers. Trump then recalled asking a farmer what happens to such workers if "they get a bad back." "He said, They don't get a bad back, sir, because if they get a bad back, they die.'"

The Department of Homeland Security confirmed to Fox News on Tuesday that it will open a new immigration detention facility at the Miami Correctional Facility in Indiana, expanding federal detention capacity by 1,000 beds. The site, branded as the "Speedway Slammer," will be part of DHS's ongoing effort to centralize high-security detention for what officials describe as "the worst of the worst" criminal non-citizens. The announcement was first reported by Fox News, which received exclusive statements from DHS Secretary Kristi Noem and Indiana Governor Mike Braun.

The Republican president of Utah's Senate managed to change consent laws after a relative was accused of raping a 13-year-old. Newsweek reported a Salt Lake City Tribune piece that Senate President J. Stuart Adams suggested that the Utah Legislature change the law that would change the child rape laws. "Previously, as adults, 18-year-old high school students who had sex with a 13-year-old could face a charge of child rape, a first-degree felony," said the Tribune. "A conviction on that charge generally requires registration as a sex offender, while a conviction on the newly created lesser charge does not."

COPENHAGEN, Denmark (AP) -- A zoo in Denmark is asking for donations of small pets as food for its predators. The Aalborg Zoo said it is trying to mimic the natural food chain of the animals housed there "for the sake of both animal welfare and professional integrity" and offers assurances the pets will be "gently euthanized" by trained staff. ... The online call for pet donations is accompanied by a picture of a wildcat baring its teeth with its mouth wide open and a link to the zoo's website, noting the facility also is interested in receiving horses.

Aug 4, 2025 It's important to understand that the Bible does give us numerous descriptions of the character traits of the Antichrist, and it does this so that we do not follow him down the road to perdition.

There is one description of the Antichrist that is not only extraordinarily precise, it actually runs contrary to the popular belief that the Antichrist will be a widely beloved individual.

Democrat Sen. Cory Booker of New Jersey refused to endorse New York City Democratic mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani when questioned by a CNN reporter on Sunday.

Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J., sidestepped a question Sunday about whether he supports New York City's Democratic mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani, a self-described democratic socialist who recently defeated Andrew Cuomo in the primary. During an interview on CNN, host Manu Raju pressed Booker on whether the Democratic Party is failing to embrace its left flank. He specifically brought up Mamdani, asking, "Democratic leaders are not supporting him. Is that a problem? Do you support him?" Booker dodged the endorsement, shifting the conversation away from ideological labels. "This is not a left-right issue," he said. "It is an authoritarian versus pragmatic government issue. I'm one of those people who believes the ties that bind us are stronger than the lines that divide us."
