US Criticizes Israeli PM's 'Maximalist' Ceasefire Stance

A senior US administration official has pushed back at reported comments by Benjamin Netanyahu, accusing the Israeli prime minister of making "maximalist statements" that are "not constructive to getting a ceasefire deal across the finish line".

"On Monday, Mr Blinken had talks lasting three hours with the Israeli leader in Jerusalem.

He later said Mr Netanyahu had accepted Washington's so-called "bridging proposal" aimed at trying to solve sticking points and bring Israel and Hamas closer to a deal.

According to an Israeli media report, Mr Netanyahu later told a meeting of hostage families that he "convinced" Mr Blinken that the deal must see Israeli troops remaining in areas of Gaza he described as "strategic military and political assets", including along the southern border with Egypt.

The reported comments appear to have irritated the US administration.

"We saw the prime minister's comments, specifically on some of these items," said the senior official who spoke on condition of anonymity.

"We're certainly not going to negotiate in public but what I can say is that the only thing Secretary Blinken and the United States are convinced of is the need for getting a ceasefire proposal across the finish line."

Interestingly, Hamas used the term, 'coup' to describe Netanyahu's attempt to take over the narrative of the negotiations.

A term popularized the actions of a criminal American President.

"Opposition Leader Yair Lapid says Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu won't go to Egypt himself to ensure a hostage release deal is signed because "he no longer has a soul."

"If Netanyahu is so convinced of his negotiating capabilities, he should travel to Egypt and sit there himself until a deal is reached. This is what a responsible prime minister should do when the lives of his citizens are important to him," Lapid says in a statement.

"The only reason he doesn't do this is because he no longer has a soul," he adds.

The statement appears to be a response to a Channel 13 report that quoted the prime minister saying he "knows well how to conduct negotiations" with Hamas, arguing that he has "conducted negotiations with the Histadrut" labor federation."

America has been a good friend to Israel but Israel has not been a good friend to America. What kind of friend constantly drains your wallet and gets you into trouble? A good friend would seek to mitigate the issues that causes heartburn for its friend.

America needs to show Israel some tough love.

I call them My Wife and Kids.

But don't tell them!

Why is this being covered anymore? Nobody's gonna do anything about it. This is just an update for the ghouls cheering on the massacre.

America is fully complicit in the genocide being carried out by Israel.

There's nothing to do.

Thoughts and prayers.

Hitler really should have formed an alliance with America.

- Hitler really should have formed an alliance with America.

Some people believe that's basically what happened... and what is still happening:

I'm still not sure it couldn't be Russia, but some believe America is the successor to Rome in End Times predictions.

Re 6.

Didn't watch that whole video yet.. a bit too religulous for me.

But Rachel Maddows Ultra podcasts go into great historical detail on how extreme right (ultra right) members of our own Congress had sympathies and ties and even tried to aid the Nazis.

Nothing was done to hold them accountable for their traitorous acts but they were eventually all voted out of office as the truth came out.

Because Democracy!

Democrats need to be concerned and worry about making and restoring America (i.e. MAGA) instead of always conniving, lying, playing politics and giving our country away to foreign interests and Commie countries and bringing in 3rd world losers that they think will vote Democrat. The only significant interest of the Democrats is keeping Trump out of the White House. They have no other significant interest other than stealing, and cultural appropriation from true patriots. These prissy genderless losers must think a camo hat from China makes them American Firsters.

Gaza is a human zoo. Seeds for plant are illegal. I am sure there will be Israeli contracts to rebuild. There is money in destruction. All for a chunk of land that was promised in a book a couple thousand years ago. Religion = poison. Religious states are something beyond words.

Nuttyyahoo doesn't want a ceasefire deal, he wants to continue the genocide.

Both because he wants genocide and because continuing the genocide keeps him out of prison.
