Trump Holding Far Fewer Rallies than in Past Runs

Axios tallies up the number rallies Trump has held this year compared to the same time in 2016 and finds that since June 2024 he's had 24, while in 2016 during that same time period he had 72.

I'm old enough to remember when a candidate's age and mental decline was important to the press.

1) Trump is a tired old man.

2) Trump acts crazy the more you let him out.

3) Trump is counting on the election coup to get power, not the election.

Rallies cost money.

Trump doesn't have any.

He is almost 100% dependent on saying outrageous things just to keep his name fresh in the minds of his pod people.

He relies on the trope, "There's no such thing as bad publicity."

He's been a fanatic about seeing his name in print from the beginning. (according to daily briefing aides)

To get money, he takes bribes for favors.

He sold the V.P. spot for $millions$ from Peter Thiel, a long-time promotor and supporter of J.D. Vance. The goal is J.D. Vance for President in 2028 ~ a placer, loyal but not too terribly bright.

Twin: You're right. Part of the expense this time around is that the Dotard's campaign now must pay in advance (like normal political campaigns) for venue use, public security, traffic control and all those other fun details they skated on four and eight years ago. Trump would rather turn out his wife and daughters than pay some town or city to show up there and blather to a small crowd interested only in selling each other merch made in Jhina.

As for his weekly golf outings, it will soon come out that Der Dotard will have to pay for the extra security necessary to guard a 150-acre plot of land surrounded by buildings. I'm certain that he will be told (if not already) that he gets the same level of security as the VP's campaign, and if he wants more, he can pay. Remember, folks, he's really really rich!

Twin, not only do rallies cost money, but some cities are now requiring Trump to pay upfront because he never paid them for previous rallies in 2020.

Trump is also not welcome in many of the cities he's stiffed for costs of his previous rallies. He literally owes tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands of dollars in unpaid bills to cities for rally costs. Most of these smaller cities have wised up to this grifter anddeadbeat. No payment no rallies. Cities are now requiring he pay their unpaid bills and full payment upfront for any future Trump event.

I was thinking the old and tired was probably getting him down as part of it. I mean think about it, he is older than Biden last election and in much worse physical shape... DonOLD may just be too old for the job.

The tired, low-energy, no-stamina-having septuagenarian with advancing dementia and crippling NPD isn't doing many rallies? He must have other plans for the election...

I was just thinking about this: the Repubicans don't have anybody else to replace him. He's the main guy, with nobody above him in the Repubican Party...so nobody to encourage him to step down, and nobody to keep him in check. Once he's out of the picture, who could possibly fill in the void? fElon Musk? I can't think of anyone. He burned that party to the ground, LOL.

Do you realize how unhappy Mr. Putin is going to be at Trump for losing this election?

Considering how Mr. Putin treats people who let him down, Russia is probably that last place Trump would go, especially if invited.
