Homicides across the United States are poised to plummet for the third straight year as 2024 winds down, driving the nation's annual murder toll down to levels not seen since before the pandemic, according to preliminary data from cities both large and small.
Interestingly in the US, 2024 saw progress on gun violence--homicides down 13.1%, mass shootings reduced from 656 to 491--thanks to stricter background checks. Probably not something you'd hear about on Fox News, but with a new administration on the horizon will these gains be sustained?

Who ya gonna believe Trump or your lying' eyes?
Well, at least we know the answer to that one.
"I am just a poor boy
Though my story's seldom told
I have squandered my resistance
For a pocketful of mumbles
Such are promises
All lies and jest
Still, a man hears what he wants to hear
And disregards the rest"
"lie la lie"
