Over 2000 Protest in Wake of Student Detainment

Students and local activists gathered on Wednesday evening at Powder House Park to protest the detainment of Tufts graduate student, Rumeysa Ozturk, by federal authorities on Tuesday.

PhD student detained by ICE wearing plain clothes and face masks Her name is Rumeysa Ozturk, she's a student from Turkey, attending Tufts as a grad student on a legal visa (sponsored by the university). Her attorney said, "We are unaware of her whereabouts and have not been able to contact her. No charges have been filed against [her] that we are aware of." https://www.reddit.com/r/PrepperIntel/comments/1jkkf8w/phd_student_detained_by_ice_wearing_plain_clothes/

The ICE agents used a standard FLETC arrest technique on the poor girl. One draws the attention of the target with a "Psst" or "Pardon me" while the partner positions himself behind the person. Rumeysa Ozturk is being detained in the South Louisiana ICE Processing Center, 3843 Stagg Avenue, Basile, LA 70515. Visitor Information: (318) 668-5900.

We're watching history.
The decline of the US into a despotic nation.
Kidnapping anyone at will.
No due process.
We saw it in Portland under Trump.
No-named "authorities" grabbing and throwing people in unmarked vans, hauling them off, no accountability, no information.
That was the warm-up.

Yeah, they already have been doing this for years in Israel.

MAGA is actually an acronym for "Make America More Like Israel" but, being MAGA, their grammar wizards misspelled the acronym. Kind of like how NSDAP became "NAZI".

Good one less Hamas supporting agitator.

I posted this story to make clear that the United States is holding political prisoners now:

In a statement to ABC News, a Department of Homeland Security spokesperson said: "Rumeysa Ozturk is a Turkish national and Tufts University graduate student, granted the privilege to be in this country on a visa. DHS and ICE investigations found Ozturk engaged in activities in support of Hamas, a foreign terrorist organization that relishes the killing of Americans. A visa is a privilege not a right. Glorifying and supporting terrorists who kill Americans is grounds for visa issuance to be terminated. This is commonsense security."

What Israel and Zionists want:

People who support Palestinians = Palestinians = Hamas = Legitimate Targets for killing and oppressing.

Zionism = Judaism = all Jews and all Christians that support them = innocent people who have the legal right to kill and oppress the ones listed above.

Oh really?
The overwhelming majority of J6ers were simply protesters. So much so, that Biden had to preemptively pardon the members of the kangaroo kourt kommittee to keep them from being sentenced (*prosecuted) for their crimes.

#8 | Posted by lfthndthrds at 2025-03-27 06:52 PM

Protesters don't get to storm the capitol, smear feces on the walls, and beat cops without repercussions, dimwit.

#9 | Posted by Alexandrite at 2025-03-27 06:55 PM

meanwhile Marco Rubio is taking away student visas from kids peacefully protesting the genocide in Gaza for writing OpEds.

Which blatantly violates the first amendment, but you won't see lefthandturds complain about that.

They had no business kidnapping this woman. None at all. This is the ---- Russia does. Or Turkey. MAGA has made the United States a total shhthole nation.

The overwhelming majority of J6ers were simply protesters.

I don't recall you bothering with that line of reasoning with the BLM protests.
J6 we had, in less than 4 hours (versus over 2 years of protests for BLM) 1,270 convictions.

How many for BLM protests? Not even a tenth of that.

How many for these protests? Let's see what Trump does. How far he abuses power. Let's see if he forces a coup.

And the overwhelming majority of the J6ers were not arrested. The ones that were had due process.
There is no valid comparison here.

#14 is NW.

And the due process they had was in American Courts of all sorts all around the country.

Of course, all of those Courts and Juries, and all of the dozens of Trump Aides who testified against him, including his own DoJ... must have been Dem Crisis Actors according to the Cult.

Who will obviously, and quite obliviously, believe every lie Trump tells them.

Hitler's Gestapo arrested thousands of Germans for no reason other than they dared challenge the Nazi narrative.

Trump and Republicans are following in their exact footsteps.

Deplorable Trumping MAGAts are enabling all this just as the people of Germany did in the lead up to World War II.

"It has become ever more apparent that, to our president, the rule of law is but an impediment to his policy goals. The rule of law is, according to him, something to navigate around or simply ignore, whether that be for political or personal gain."

LMAO Due process to the extent that the committee members who put them in prison had to receive preemptive pardons just to protect them for going to prison for destroying evidence... Yeah, you keep going with that...

Better yet, go cry in Larry's fake vagina.

Please be specific here.

What committee put who in prison?

Specifics will be helpful.

thx.

"destroying evidence"

The J6 committee did not destroy evidence.
That, like most of what you believe, is propaganda.

"I posted this story to make clear that the United States is holding political prisoners now"

"The overwhelming majority of J6ers were simply protesters."

J6ers who were merely protesters and didn't break the law were not imprisoned.
And every J6 protester charged under federal statute enjoyed due process.

Detained students have not been charged with anything.
And unlike anyone who was detained or jailed for J6, they are being detained not for violation of criminal statute but for their political activism, per Uncle Sam.
And that's what makes them political prisoners.

I hope the student is not deported. Trump is a rabid and dangerous person.

Due process is not optional. This country is sinking fast.

Where is the Democratic party? Why are they silent at the national level?

Still Triangulating for wishy washy Republicans that they never get the votes of?

Schumer is a dope..

LMAO Due process to the extent that the committee members who put them in prison ...

Hey, dumb a**. Each and every, all and singular person put in prison for J6 was by a United State
District Court Judge. Some with the assistance of a jury of their peers, most by their guilty pleas. The only thing funny about that is their dumb a** conduct that got them there. But more funny is dumb f**ks like you trying to pave over such dumb a** conduct.
