The massive changes in US research brought about by the new administration of President Donald Trump are causing many scientists in the country to rethink their lives and careers.

American scientists have long worked abroad, but recruitment efforts are increasing due to cuts by the Trump administration.

If your entire life had been on the cutting edge scientific research and your funding stopped because the country around you became hostile and as wary of scientists as Salem's Puritans were of so-called "witches", would you stay? And if universities or corporations in France, England, Germany, Sweden, Panama, Brazil, Israel, or Japan, etc, would welcome you, would you stay?

Some of us are old enough to remember when Trump would not shut down flight from China at a momnent when that might have done some good with COVID.
