More from the article...

... "The record abundantly reveals that Defendants' true intention is to effectively dismantle the Department without an authorizing statute," U.S. District Judge Myong Joun wrote, noting "the Department cannot be shut down without Congress's approval."

The judge said an injunction was necessary because "The supporting declarations of former Department employees, educational institutions, unions, and educators paint a stark picture of the irreparable harm that will result from financial uncertainty and delay, impeded access to vital knowledge on which students and educators rely, and loss of essential services for America's most vulnerable student populations." ...

Wait, you mean there are actual laws that define and regulate these things because they're under Congressional oversight as agencies that wield delegated Congressional power!?!?!

It was created by Congress. Only Congress can dismantle it.

So far, the Judicial Branch seems to be agreeing.

But, I have to ask, how long might the Judicial Branch last before the pizza deliveries start to affect them?

The educated vote against fascism, so of course, Trump is totally on board with seeing the Department of Education as an enemy stronghold.

Hughmass,

How can you be so ignorant? The Department of Education is a liberal -------- and it needs to be closed. Hasnt done anything for the American people since it was created.

That applies to everything Congress appropriated that DOGE has dismantled, doesn't it?

President Donald Trump pledged to shutter the department and days before he issued an executive order directing Education Secretary Linda McMahon to "take all necessary steps to facilitate the closure of the Department of Education,"
Lewzer quotes:

"Why Is @BarackObama constantly issuing executive orders that are major power grabs of authority?"

"The country wasn't based on executive orders,"

"Right now, Obama goes around signing executive orders. He can't even get along with the Democrats, and he goes around signing all these executive orders. It's a basic disaster. You can't do it."

For those keeping score, Lewzer has signed more Executive orders in 2025 than Joe Biden did in his whole term.

-Education Department created
-Education outcomes continue to decline
-Department is evidently ineffective and should be eliminated. Why continue to pay for something that doesn't work?

Republicans are morons.

Instead of killing the department of education, which has merit, why not work to fix it?

Oh I know, because killing it was meant to help pass this unnecessary tax cut for billionaires.

Republicans really are the most poorly educated people in America.

The majority of which are unconstitutional and have been blocked by the courts.

Which will continue until Trumpy can destroy the courts ability to block his unconstitutional and illegal behavior.

No worries @itchy&scratchy.

He's working on it.
