Just another capitalist exploiting workers, in this case workers who cannot fight back or demand better wages, because of their legal status. This guy should also be in jail for hiring the workers, because they probably DO NOT have valid papers to work in the US.

As I've written, there is little to no chance these ICE dudes will show up in force in Texas or Okiehomie, because as our unstable genius king has noted, ICE raids cause hard-working people in the construction, hospitality, lawncare and other businesses to suddenly disappear. And all know that white people in this country will not work long as roofers, room attendants, grass cutters or dishwashers. MAGA-loving farmers are already feeling the strain from not having enough field workers to harvest stone fruit, strawberries or lettuce. Ask employers at meat-packing plants how they feel about their staffing, and the response will be downcast eyes, frowns and head shaking.

The self-loathing Pee Wee German Stephen Miller is doing a great job causing a labor shortage in this country. Good work, Jew Boy...

Aww poor guy. Good thing they just made an instrument worthy of playing a sad song for him.

Shouldn't he have been arrested too?

He appears to have broken law by hiring undocumented workers.

Article says otherwise........so I don't know.

Adding to Scardina's annoyance, the men had valid work permits and pending asylum applications, according to their attorney Regilucia Smith. "They are legally here," she said. "Valid work permit, not even close to expired ... again, no criminal records"not here, not in Nicaragua."

take that for what it's worth.

Let me translate for you. There is no such thing as roofing without undocumented immigrants. There is a deep, multilayered deep network of middlemen providing fraudulent documentation to transient construction workers to game the system and give cover to folks like Mr. Sardinia who hire them and pay them substandard wages in cash. This is nothing new, and Sardinia knows this game. He just didn't think HE would get caught up in it. While it is possible that his workers had valid work permits and ICE will sort it out, it is equally likely that their permits were fraudulent, and even the workers didn't know it.

Re 9

Were they really "valid"? Then the workers were playing by the rules.

Then it is ICE that is breaking the law. Where is the due process? Where is the accountability?

Why is ICE not being held accountable to the law.
If this is true then this is proof that raids like this are illegal.

And now you know why Angelenos are upset.

I did contracting for a decade and had a hard time competing against the likes of this whiner complaining about how his undocumented workers got hauled off. I refused to hire undocumented workers and so I lost a lot of bids to bigger greedier contractors. This guy made his fortune on his worker's backs now he will might go bankrupt and can only blame himself.

OK, I stand correct that this guy was hiring undocumented people for his company. TRump, who he voted for, just took away his employees' legal protections. Thing is though TRump just did that today so why did his employees get hauled off before now as he said, "five out of six" had legal status?
