The D.N.C. Is Scrapping Its Report on What Went Wrong in '24

Ken Martin, the Democratic National Committee chairman, ordered the autopsy months ago but is now said to believe that its release would be counterproductive for the party.

Comments

From the article: "Here's our North Star: Does this help us win?" Mr. Martin said in a statement. "If the answer is no, it's a distraction from the core mission."

Democrats choosing to stick their heads in the sand and ignore what Americans had to say about their utter failure in 2024 is idiocy. If they continue to be more interested in what over educated policy wonks in DC, California and NYC have to say and identity politics than the regular Americans that used to make up their party they're doomed. And America will be too if we're left with no viable alternative to Republican fascism.

@#1 ... Democrats choosing to stick their heads in the sand and ignore what Americans had to say about their utter failure in 2024 is idiocy ...

If the report, due to the old information it is based upon, is no longer is apropos, then the DNC should say so in an addendum to the report. Then release the report with the addendum.

Mark my words, they're going to look at the current historical levels of unfavorable opinion on Trump and try to force identity politic s*&^ into every race they can.

They're not releasing a report because then they won't have to stick by their own words.

The idiots running the DNC will never play the conservative play and go for middle of the road voters by picking candidates that best match the district and state they're running in, they'll push for ever "first [insert string of ever more myopic minorities]" candidates all the way.

One way in which the report is counterproductive is announcing its existence and then openly ditch it.

IMHO that's not what's wrong with democrats. The problem with democrats is that they run to the left in primaries and then tack back to the middle for the general. IOW They take advantage of their primary/base voters. These primary/base voters get PO'd and I believe accounts for poor poll numbers for democrats. This tacking back to the middle helps explain why democrats can't seem to get much done once they get into power.

Say what you will about Trump, but he will run as fast and as far as he can until someone/something forces him stop. I'd like to see the next democratic president do the same with issues that are important to base democrats. How about starting off with statehood for DC, PR and the VI?

Indeed. They know everyone would just skip to the "dead inside" part.

Their cheap immitation democracy has worn through.

Screw their delusions. We need a revolt.

For the past year many Democrats argued that Kamala Harris and Tim Walz lost on Tuesday 5 Nov 2024 because Americans were simply too racist and/or misogynistic to vote for a black woman to be POTUS.

There are too many of them to quote here and some folks on drudge.com supported that contention.

Yet on Tuesday 4 Nov 2008, Americans voted for a Man of Color to be POTUS and on Tuesday 8 Nov 2016 Hillary Clinton won the popular vote against Dummkopf Trumpf.

The mini blue wave of Republican losses on Tuesday 4 Nov 2025 can be attributed to candidates moving to the left against the entrenched status quo and dinosaurs refusing to relinquish power. A communist won in Ithaca NY and a socialist won in Seattle WA.

Progressive Democrat Zohran Mamdani was elected Mayor of NYC amongst a stable of centrist candidates.

By not releasing the autopsy report, the DNC now echoes Republicans who do not want the Epstein files released.

What are in both of these Pandora Boxes that our political leadership doesn't want released?
