An aged Presidential nominee from one of the two majors parties appeared to believe that fictional serial killer, Dr. Hannibal Lecter, was a real person. The candidate had just been talking about mental health care facilities and suddenly shifted gears and referred to the Silence Of The Lambs antagonist as "the late, great Hannibal Lecter", offered the cannibalistic character his congratulations for some unstated reason and called him a "wonderful man."
