I wish this was surprising. The current NC supreme court is about as partisan as a court can be. This wasn't the case until fairly recently.

We're turning judges into politicians in NC, and it's harmful

My first thoughts when reading the headline was thank you propublica for reporting on the judiciary and then I wonder how often this happens.
Article covers that question.

When you go to vote this fall remember that Republicans are blocking efforts to reign in the corrupt and lawless behavior of the judiciary. Do you want to live in a country where judges are exempt from the laws and can abuse their power and jail defendants without cause?

Laws and rules don't apply to Republicans. When they claim to be the party of law and order, they should be laughed at.

-three sources with direct knowledge of the decisions.
-state law mandates that such decisions remain confidential.
-The sources spoke to ProPublica on the condition of anonymity because many of the actions and decisions of both institutions are confidential and because the sources said they feared retaliation.
retaliation here means prosecution

breaking now-
Four sources familiar with women report that these three leakers are women.

See, Republicans were right about activist judges!

Again a complete lack of caring by Republicans.
