"Specifically, Google's exclusive deals with Apple and other key players in the mobile ecosystem were anticompetitive, Mehta said.
Google has also charged high prices in search advertising that reflect its monopoly power in search, he added.
Those contracts have long meant that when users want to find information, Google is generally the easiest and quickest platform to go to, which in turn has fueled Google's massive online advertising business.
While the court did not find that Google has a monopoly in search ads, the broader strokes of the opinion represent the first major decision in a string of US-government led competition lawsuits targeting Big Tech.
This case in particular has been described as the biggest tech antitrust case since the US government's antitrust showdown with Microsoft at the turn of the millennium."
.
This should only be the beginning of a much needed, much bigger TR-ish break-up of the huge monopolies; Corporate SuperCitizens and Oligarchs now in control of most of the profits in most of our industries.

Break em"' Up. Google should be about 20 companies,in competition with each other.
Amazon, Microsoft, Facebook, break em' all into pieces.
Nobody can get a foothold in market share with these behemoths dominating the market.
They also hurt innovation and consumers.

Yes breaking them up so Russia and Chinese companies can dominate is a great strategy.

Monopolistic?
A handful of corporations own this country.
When are we going to break them up?
What of those who control all the information we receive from news and media sources?
Going after Google is fine. But they're hardly the only ones maintaining a monopoly.

I'm sorry, but the, "but there are other gangsters!" argument is less than convincing.
We actually have a history in this country of having the People rise up to vote for a TR or an FDR to breakup Monopolies and create a New Deal for said People, not for Corporations.
In Russia and China, the people just rolled over and let themselves become Crass Crony Capitalists as countries controlled by their billionaire Oligarchs and Party Elites.
We will truly be the same here if the Billionaire Boys Club that Trump is President of comes back into power.
I think they'll eventually regret it someday... as the German Industrialists did after they financed Adolf Hitler's election by rousing up their rwing populists with nationalistic, authoritarian, racist, chauvinist, jingoistic, homophobic, and anti-immigrant propaganda.
They were responsible for millions a deaths worldwide, and so will be these New American Golden Ager Oligarchs we are creating now.

IMHO and while I agree with you, it doesn't work. What happens is China comes in and then buys those 20 entities. Look at Automotive for the path.
