Types of Lies
As Told by Supporters of the
Kumquat Pol Pot- Outright Lie: an assertion of something known or believed by the speaker or writer to be untrue with intent to deceive.
- Half-truth: a statement that conveys only part of the truth, especially one used deliberately in order to deceive someone.
- Out-of-context: without the surrounding words or circumstances and so not fully understandable.
- Lying-by-ommission: the act of intentionally leaving out important details to mislead or misrepresent the truth
- Opinion-as-fact: Opinions are not automatically facts. You have the right to your opinion, but that doesn't make your opinion right. | Important: May include one or more of the above
- Source Sorcery: Linking to or referencing a thoroughly biased source which, inevitably, uses one or more of the above. Or, it is a discredited source (whale dot io anyone?). Or, it is a "source" that, traced back, leads inevitabilty to Russia, Iran, China or North Korea.
As always, any of the above may include one or more of the above.
