Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

"Many Americans roused to action by their government's complicity in Gaza's destruction have no personal connection to Palestine or Israel. Like many Americans who protested South African apartheid or the Vietnam War, their motive is not ethnic or religious. It is moral."

2024 was much like 1968 for the Democratic Party: anti-war voters stayed home.

A bit of nihilism here, yes? Democrats were punished for ignoring Gaza in preference for a man who will ignore Gaza three times as hard?

Isn't it correct to say that the Muslim-American pique over Gaza has likely assured the eradication of Palestinian Gazans and the annexation of Gaza itself to Israel?

That's a huge price to pay for denying Harris Michigan.

As if attacking Israel and aligning with terrorists wouldn't have cost the Dems more support.

These pro-Hamasers living their bubble crack me up.

The Dems could have Bucked against the Israel lobby.

They could have included A few Palestinian voices at the convention instead of silencing them and attempting to shame them as Antisemitic.

They could have made some effort to understand the protests instead of just repressing them and trying to be as "Zionist" as possible.

The Israeli's wanted Trump and the domestic Israel lobby, by capturing the DNC, made it so.

I know I personally stayed home on Election Day. I have few regrets.

Fast or Slow, Openly, or with "grave misgiving" both parties are virtually identical on Israel and War policy.

As least by openly supporting and encouraging the Genocide the Trump administration is making the Moral Choice as Clear and Stark as if actual Nazis were in Control....

Ultimately. We get the Government we Deserve.

Trump keeps it Real... Real ------. Open Oligarchy, Material support of Genocide, Proxy War, all of these things were already here before Trump got elected.

He's just more enthusiastic about them.

This is really kind of rich, considering the NYT's stance on Israel.

This is a dilemma because Christians may not exactly want to see Palestinian Gazans suffer, but they simply support Israel due to their religious connection.

Christians don't have the same connection with Muslims.

As I pointed out before, the Jews trace their lineage back to Abraham's son Isaac, whom he had with his wife Sarah.

Muslims trace their lineage back to Abraham's son Ishmael, whom he had with Hagar, Sarah's servant, who was later sent away.

Incidentally, God made a covenant with Isaac's lineage, which Christians believe culminated in Jesus.

This covenant did not include Ishmael's descendants, however, in Genesis 17:20, God offers a blessing to Ishmael's descendants, promising them fruitfulness and a great nation.

This distinction symbolizes a theological divide between Jews and Muslims that has deep historical and religious roots.

Again...Christians aren't exactly anti-Palestinian, however, the net effect of their strong support for Israel can sometimes appear that way.
