Authorities were en route on Friday to execute an arrest warrant for impeached South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol, Yonhap news agency reported, as a crowd of protesters faced off with police outside his residence and vowed to block any attempt.

... South Korea's Yonhap News Agency has reported a joint investigation team is set to execute a warrant for President Yoon Suk-yeol.

Yonhap says the investigators left their office near Seoul on Friday morning and entered the premises of the presidential residence.

A court in South Korea issued the warrant against Yoon on charges of orchestrating an insurrection earlier this week.

This comes a month from Yoon's sudden martial law declaration early December. The warrant is set to expire on Monday. ...

I just remind myself that we human beings haven't been working on this democracy thing for all that long, for most of our history we were about slavery and constant wars...
Maybe, one day, we will get it right, but that isn't today, not there, not here.
Democracy requires an educated electorate, people who understand that the system requires sacrifice, honors talent, and moves on from disagreements. Trump and Musk and Vivek are going to work mighty hard...to screw up our public educational system.
