And he's even well qualified! But does he get along with Queen Elonia?

Donald's had four years previous practice at this job. You'd think he'd do just a teeny weeny bit better.

Great move by Trump to save money.
Only appoint someone when you actually need them.
MAGA logic at its best.

Air traffic controllers union responds to Trump's DEI attacks thehill.com
... The air traffic controllers union responded Friday to claims by President Trump this week that diversity programs contributed to the fatal crash in Washington Wednesday night. "Air traffic controllers earn the prestigious and elite status of being a fully certified professional controller after successfully completing a series of rigorous training milestones. The standards to achieve certifications are not based on race or gender," Nick Daniels, president of the National Air Traffic Controllers Association (NATCA), said in a statement. "The proud men and women that comprise the national aviation safety professionals bear the immense responsibility of ensuring the safety and efficiency of the national airspace system, while working short-staffed, often 6 days a week, and in facilities long overdue for modernization." ...

Sorry to tell you but this problem falls at Pete's lap as he had four years to take action to have that busy airport tower, as well as others, fully staffed with competent controllers. Even if Trump had put one in the position on day one, that individual would have had time to identify, let alone to take any action about ATC shortages - but that would require common sense to realize that which QCP obviously does not have.

Oh please. No funding, few qualified candidates, government shutdowns, COVID (and a horrible response to it), and a host of other issues plagued Trump's 2017-2021 term causing a shortage of ATC controllers. That on top of Reagan's debacle we never recovered from - and now you want Democrats to save your sorry asses like we have to do every time you wreck the economy? Some things take more time - and maybe spending a a little more money.
