Danielle R. Sassoon, Manhattan's acting U.S. attorney, resigned on Thursday rather than obey a Justice Department order that she drop a corruption case against New York City's mayor, Eric Adams, that she had championed, according to three people with knowledge of the matter.

Just so it is clear.

The ------- DoJ ordered the righteous case against Mayor Adams dismissed because of purely political reasons.

Again, the DoJ's STATED reasoning "...the prosecution interfered with the mayor's ability to fight illegal immigration and violent crime, both Trump administration priorities."

That is the essence of corruption.

To be clear, prosecuting a criminal, got in the way of -------'s political priorities.

This is the justification that -------'S DOJ gave. Not a liberal swish take on it.

Thanks, magat scum.

Is it sinking in yet?

Again, for perspective

Dropping the case for political reasons like this is cause for an attorney to be disbarred.

It is truly monumentally f'd up.

Danielle Sassoon is principled, but now temporarily unemployed. She will land something decent in NYC.

Trumpf will get something out of Eric Adams. He has political appointment jobs to offer Trumpf's cronies, parks to name after Trumpf, less parking and traffic enforcement around Trumpf properties. NYC's budget is bigger than most states.
