... Schmidt was stationed on the U.S.S. Shiloh while serving in the Navy and was injured overseas. He said he was terrified when he began learning of the cuts. "How are we going to get better service with less employees?" he said. "That's what I can't figure out. And nobody can answer that question." On Feb. 13, the Department of Veterans Affairs announced the dismissal of more than 1,000 employees. That was followed by the dismissal of 1,400 additional employees just 10 days later. ... And, Pres Trump seems to be actively screwing those Veterans, who supported him, to the wall.
Instead of helping those Veterans who helped elect him, Pres Trump seems instead to be most supportive of a chain-saw -carrying prancer, gleefully wreaking havoc with the Institution that serves Veterans.

Trump administration plans to cut 80,000 employees from Veterans Affairs, according to internal memo (March 9, 2025) apnews.com
... The Department of Veterans Affairs is planning a reorganization that includes cutting over 80,000 jobs from the sprawling agency that provides health care and other services for millions of veterans, according to an internal memo obtained Wednesday by The Associated Press. The VA's chief of staff, Christopher Syrek, told top-level officials at the agency Tuesday that it had an objective to cut enough employees to return to 2019 staffing levels of just under 400,000. That would require terminating tens of thousands of employees after the VA expanded during the Biden administration, as well as to cover veterans impacted by burn pits under the 2022 PACT Act. ...

The PACT Act and your VA benefits www.va.gov
... The PACT Act is a law that expands VA health care and benefits for Veterans exposed to burn pits, Agent Orange, and other toxic substances. This law helps us provide generations of Veterans"and their survivors"with the care and benefits they've earned and deserve. And starting March 5, 2024, we're expanding VA health care to millions of Veterans -- years earlier than called for by the PACT Act. ...

The Fear and Confusion are the Point.
They want people off balance. They want uncertainty.
It makes it easier to usurp powers They never had.
The Executive Branch is trying to make the other co equal branches of government vassals of the Executive.
Trump Wants Toads who KISS HIS ------- ASS.
Independent powers he can't turn to his own advantage must be Destroyed.

Recently talked with a person who was a veteran of the Vietnam War, who was still for Trump. I have no way to understand the mind that thinks that way.

My local VA medical facility is a ghost town. Closest non-emergency appointments are 6 to 8 weeks out. When Obama was in office, appointments were usually next day. During Trump's 1st administration, his hiring freeze pushed appointment schedules close to a month, and when Biden took office, it began to tick back down slowly due mostly to congressional intransigence. Trump has openly confirmed his disdain and contempt for anyone who served in uniform, referring to us "suckers and losers." E-4 Aviation Machinist Mate, USCG 1965-69.
