Well, first off: Trump exhibits no interest in exposure to the truth. He seems to practically waddle-run from it in a panic, like a cockroach from a light but somewhat slower.
And then there's the matter of the people with whom he has freely decided to surround himself: suckups and fluckups totally beholden to him who he bills as "the best." That they can actually deliver those quiveringly Norkish declarations of fealty to him at cabinet meetings - and he can sit there smugly taking their ritualistic displays of humiliation in - says a lot about the state this country is in.
