Soundtracks were a great way to discover bands before the Internet took over. We would hear a track or two in a movie, go buy the album, and share/copy with friends. Then we'd get curious about a particular band and set out to find more of their music. Sharing and enjoying music was a more tactile social experience compared to today's passive playlist sharing.
