There is nothing efficient nor cost-savings about the way DOGE is proceeding. They are doing a hatchet job in areas where a scalpel is required:

Facing a furor after news reports last week that the prestigious corps of young epidemiologists being trained as "disease detectives" at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) had been targeted for termination, the administration of President Donald Trump reversed course. The roughly 100 trainees at the Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) were spared.

But another outstanding group of young CDC trainees wasn't so lucky. At least 15 of 21 fellows in CDC's lesser known Laboratory Leadership Service (LLS) were axed last weekend. The ultracompetitive, 2-year program, which trains Ph.D. scientists in the intricacies of public health laboratory work, has spawned leaders at state and local labs from Milwaukee to Tennessee to New York City.

It will be comforting to know that when a communicable disease infects you or your family you can be sure that those in charge finding a preventive vaccine or a cure are sworn loyalists of Donald Trump; probably not the smartest scientists but they swore loyalty to Trump. I hope that consoles you when you or a loved one are dying. Know too that the bridges amd other infrastructure are being designed under Trump loyal leadership as will be the air traffic controllers keeping you safe when you fly or the FBI keeping you safe from terrorists or leading our military forces. Loyalty to Trump will now be the most important criteria in every agency of the Federal government. This is MAGA. God help America! This is INSANITY!

Old man here, hoping I live until November 2028, to vote in the Presidential elections, if there is an election. By then he and Musk will have taken from the poor and Medicaid and social security will be chopped as well as they can without having an uprising of poor Republican voters.
