Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Tuesday, April 01, 2025

To everyone's surprise, however, the new Trump Administration has made the filibuster almost beside the point. Instead of trying to bulldoze the Senate, Trump has simply driven around it.

Didn't Star Wars predict this whole scenario over 20 years ago?

Yup. Next the empire drops troops onto Alderaan (called Greenland in our Galaxy)

Since my ascension, I have allowed a convenient fiction to persist"that the Empire is merely a continuation of the Republic. The Imperial Senate remains"an illusion of many voices coming together to govern. In truth, there is only one voice. Mine."

Mean while Spartacus was yapping on the floor all night and into this morning to an empty chamber.

Same thing happened to Rome before its collapse. A weak senate abdicated their power to Ceasar and Rome had its first king.

Same thing happened in Germany, the Nazis silenced all opposition and seized power.

Same thing is happening here in America. We have a subservient Republican Congress who Trump has rendered absolutely impotent. They serve absolutely no purpose and are sitting idly by as Trump governs America by executive order.

Not to mention everyone ignoring Musk and his band of incel hackers still having full unfettered access to all this nations and every Americans private information.

The Trump administration will end this nation as it's been for the past century.

Why don't you ever say why Trump's policies are wrong and how your party would do it differently?

Why don't you ever say why Trump's policies are wrong and how your party would do it differently?

Sure

Here's a policy that is wrong:

"This removal was an error," a top Immigration and Customs Enforcement official wrote in a statement to a federal judge. Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a Salvadoran, was on one of three deportation flights to his home country on March 15 amid a frantic legal fight over President Donald Trump's decision to invoke war powers to hasten the deportation of more than 100 Venezuela nationals to El Salvador. In addition to the Venezuelans subject to Trump's invocation of the Alien Enemies Act were other deportees with purported gang ties. The Trump administration now says there's nothing it can do to facilitate Abrego Garcia's return to U.S. custody.

What my party would do differently?

We would give people Due Process.

Don't worry FishPawn, I know quite well you have nothing to contribute to the conversation.

Just remember, you sold out the nation so the wealthy could have another tax cut.

Yeah see one day Fishy is going to be a billionaire, too, so he's always voted for the billionaire agenda.

It only makes sense.

Interesting how all of you were crowing about the Biden economy and how great it was. The Trump tax cuts were in place then. Did you know that?

You better be nicer to billionaires, they are the ones who pay the taxes that you live off.

Blah, Blah, end of democracy, blah, Trump is Hitler, blah, blah, blah. Tourists terrorizing attacking our nations Capitol blah blah blah ...

Yuck it up funny boy. Your days in the "cat bird seat" are numbered.

There will be no "third term".

Oh and Happy Liberation Day! (Just more Fascist Claptrap)

Celebrating the day Americans were liberated from their money and then their Democracy.

And as usual you have it bass ackwards as it's the billionaires who had better be nicer to the hoi polloi.

The French knew exactly how to treat the billionaires who ---- on the poor and thought they were better than the "common man".

Once they are riled up the Americans are way more aggressive and intolerant of perceived offenses than the French ever were.

Such hard lives our Senators and Congressmen live: Platinum health care where they are treated by a USN Admiral, $174,000 per annum salaries (and for many, terrific pensions after four years), large obedient staff members, CODEL travel to southern climates during the winter months on a DC Air National Guard passenger plane for "fact-finding" missions, and access to private gyms, barber shops, and first-rate eateries within Capitol Hill. One almost feels bad for our Senators and Congressmen.

One almost feels bad for our Senators and Congressmen.

Why even almost? I have not one shred of sympathy for them.

They have proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that they do not care about you or I.

It is YOU and I that needs to suffer for the good of the country.

Not them.

You must have us mistaken for US Army Soldiers or something.

#14 Hi Donnerboy: Concur. My first commander in the US Army was a 7th SFG(A) Major and a black belt in judo. He taught me this: "If you're looking for sympathy, you'll find it in the dictionary between the words shht and syphilis." I have ZERO sympathy for the Politburo that we in the US call Congress: cdn.theatlantic.com

Hilarious!

Billionaires pay much less as a percentage of their income than you do. And they pay nothing into the Pension system on their income over $176k or whatever it is.

Trumpers are like Charlie Brown when Lucy sets up the ball for him and then moves it whenever he votes, er, I mean kicks.

And you fall their BS every time.
