@#7 ... This is exactly why NO BUSINESSES will move onshore. ...
Yup, for all the reasons your comment states.
Plus one more your comment implies but does not overtly state ...
For a business to move a factory back to the US and employ US workers, well, that's a three to five year commitment. In addition to the cost you cite.
So, what company is going to commit to such a long-term commitment when Pres Trump's trade policies seem to change from week to week?
And now, it seems that Pres Trump (looking quite tired in his Oval Office media appearances of late) seems to be retreating from his "I won't back down" position ahead of the talks wih China this weekend?

...
Well, I won't back down
No, I won't back down
You can stand me up at the gates of Hell
But I won't back down
No, I'll stand my ground
Won't be turned around
And I'll keep this world from draggin' me down
Gonna stand my ground
And I won't back down
...
Then there's this from that genius.com link...
... "I Won't Back Down" was inspired by a devastating 1987 incident where an arsonist set fire to Tom Petty's California home on his wife's birthday while his family was eating breakfast:
It really frightened me. They didn't just try to kill me, they tried to wipe out my whole family.
...
But, that aside, Pres Trump did look to back down in his manufactured stand-off with China. Apparently giving in to China's request for him to lower tariffs before talks could begin.
