Wounded Knee awarded more Medal of Honors than D-Day
Hard to be believe that there were more instances of incredible bravery and sacrifice at Wounded Knee than the 6 days of D'Day operations.

Is Pickled Pete also "reassessing" the US Army's conduct at My Lai? How about a nice gong for John Chivimgton of Sand Creek massacre notoriety? Hegseth really does get a hard on for war criminals, so let's get the ball rolling with more medals and pardons all around.

Somewhat discouraging that it took until 2024 and Lloyd Austin to finally order a review. Enough shame for both parties for letting this go 100 plus years. Heaping stack of shame on Hegseth for affirming that they were awarded correctly.

Nothing done at Wounded Knee was honorable.

Review from 1917
In its report the review panel acknowledged that Medals of Honor had been awarded liberally in the past, By 1917 the guidelines for awarding a medal had been tightened. An act of June 3, 1916, limited the award of the Medal of Honor to acts demonstrating "conspicuous gallantry or intrepidity at the risk of life above and beyond the call of duty." The board recognized that some past actions would not have qualified for awards under the 1916 standards. Rather than revoke more medals the board decided to base its judgments upon "the standard established by the authorities at the time of the award." The original 1862 guidelines, still in effect in 1890, provided only that medal recipients should distinguish themselves by "gallantry in action and other soldier like qualities. "52 Had the board applied the higher standards in place by 1916 some of the Wounded Knee medals undoubtedly would have been rescinded. history.nebraska.gov

Nothing says gallantry than killing women and children. Start to finish 2-4 hours. gettysburg.stonesentinels.com 93,000 union troops over 3 days, so one day of Gettysburg is similar to Wounded Knee? The entire Spanish American war produced 112 recipients. Those conflicts used the same criteria of gallantry in action and other soldier-like qualities. Go ahead and continue to run interference for racists.

From the cited article ...
... In 1890, the U.S. Army herded hundreds of Lakota Sioux Americans into a clearing near Wounded Knee Creek in South Dakota, ordered them to hand over their weapons, and then opened fire, killing as many as 300 people, around half of them women and children. The 20 soldiers who were awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor -- the highest military honor -- for their role in the massacre will keep that award, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said on Sept. 25. "We salute their memory, we honor their service, and we will never forget what they did," Hegseth said in a video statement posted to X. ...

So, killing defenseless people now seems to be the basis of awarding the Congressional Medal of Honor according to Sec Hegseth?

Both Hegseth and Trump have long been advocates for Americans who commit war crimes. Cruelty and cowardice are hallmarks of MAGA and its MAGAts. So Wounded Knee is no biggie for this crew.
