More from the article ...

... Few places across the country epitomize that swing like New Jersey's Passaic County, a densely populated, geographically diverse region where Latinos comprise a plurality. Voters there supported Trump by a narrow margin in 2024, only to back Democratic Gov.-elect Mikie Sherrill by double-digits last week.

Union City, which is the most Latino city in the state, swung 47 points toward Democrats.

And Sherrill seized the Trump-supporting 9th Congressional District, home to a large Latino population, by around 19 points.

In Virginia, the other state with a gubernatorial contest last week, the two most heavily Latino cities swung toward Democratic Gov.-elect Abigail Spanberger by more than 15 points each.

And in California, support for a Democratic-backed ballot measure exceeded Kamala Harris' share by roughly 12 points in Imperial County, where Latino residents make up 77 percent of the population. That marks the biggest swing of any county in the state.

Just one year after Trump soared to victory with 48 percent of the Latino vote nationally, these results demonstrate that Republicans have yet to cement them into their coalition. ...

How Stupid would Latinos have to be to support Trump?

Trump is waging open war on them. With the power of the State behind it.

The Repukes are Really Stupid.

To think they could do that and keep Latino Support.

They'll be back to the GOP next election. As soon as another woman decides "it's her turn" to be the Dem nominee.

@#4 ... As soon as another woman decides "it's her turn" to be the Dem nominee. ...

I'm not convinced that is why the Dems chose fmr VP Harris in 2024.

imo, that scenario is more complicated than that.

But, maybe to a possible concern of your comment...

"woman" and "presidential nominee?"

imo, that is the issue here.

Would have alienated a big group of their voters (women) if Dems went with anyone else. Black women, the most reliable Dem voters, may have decided to stay at home on election day.

That's the price Dems pay when Joe proudly declared that he was going to DEI-hire for the veep spot.

Biden says he would prefer a person of color or a woman as his vice president

Trump picked a guy with very little experience in anything but finance, Vance.

Harris had been an AG and then Senator for twice as long as Vance had been a Senator, so more experience there too.

I'm not saying she wasn't qualified. But telling 75-80% of the voting public that they wouldn't have been considered for the position based on the color of their skin or what they have dangling between their legs isn't the best method of winning people over. Affirmative action isn't a huge plus when running for office.

Trump, on the other hand, could pick a warm jar of phlegm for his running mate and he wouldn't have lost a single vote. And the MAGATs would turn up in four years to cast their ballot for that jar of phlegm for president if it has Trump's endorsement, so long as the phlegm is white and male.

No wonder you are the most hated.

Much (most?) of Latino rejection of Kamala Harris can be attributed to misogyny. Never underestimate the power (both on a conscious and a subconscious level) of macho imagery among Latino culture. It is almost as intense as extreme Islamic misogyny.
