Don't know if it's true, but the ease with which he was grabbed suggested to me a high ranking insider or insiders were involved.

CIA/DIA/NSA tracked President Nicolas Maduro and established his "pattern of life," but they can't read his mind as to which of the eight locations he will sleep that night. So, somebody close to Nicolas Maduro fingered his location to CIA, possibly to collect the $50m bounty for his abduction.

Venezuelan counterintelligence would be monitoring communications, so something subtle would be necessary.

Along these lines are the possible methods of alerting his/her CIA handler with a pre-arranged code:

Electronic signal to a throwaway cellphone:

Text "One" for Palacio del Presidente
Text "Two" for Ministry of Justice
Text "Three" for Segundo AFB
Text "Four" for....

Physical Signals:

Wear a red scarf or tie for Palacio del Presidente
Wear a yellow scarf or tie for Ministry of Justice
Wear a blue scarf or tie for Segundo AFB
Wear a green scarf or tie for....

or

Carry "War and Peace" for Palacio del Presidente
Carry "Madame Bovary" for Ministry of Justice
Carry "The Sun Also Rises" for Segundo AFB
Carry "Murder on the Orient Express" for....

Delcy Rodríguez strikes defiant tone but must walk tightrope as Venezuela's interim leader
www.theguardian.com

... In her first speech as Venezuela's interim leader, Delcy Rodrguez lambasted the US and pledged fealty to Nicols Maduro. But the Trump administration has made a cold calculation: she will bow to Washington.

Rodrguez is a political veteran who served as Maduro's vice-president and oil minister and defended the regime against accusations of terrorism, drug-running and election-stealing, yet for now she is Donald Trump's favoured option to lead Venezuela. "She's essentially willing to do what we think is necessary to make Venezuela great again," Trump said.

The US president has not ruled out deploying ground troops but appears to want to "run" Venezuela through Rodrguez, who finds herself in charge of a regime shocked and demoralised by the abduction of Maduro yet still in power. ...

@#5

So, Pres Trump seems to be threatened another military action against Venezuela if she doesn't behave the way he dictates?

It's not intended to be.

The goal is to put an end to the post-war hegomny and return to territorialism.

The United States will not be policing nations, under the aegis of the United Nations, like we've been doing since 1947.

The United States will be taking control of nations, independently, unilaterally.

Over the course of our lifetimes, Republicans have gone from supporting, to universally rejecting the United Nations, in their rhetoric.

I wish I could disagree.

But I cannot.

Pres Trump seems to be dividing up the world between the ~influence spheres~ of the United States, Russia and China.

In his recent national Security document, Pres trump seems to indicate that the Western Hemisphere belongs to the US.

Apparently ceding Europe to Pres Putin, and southeast Asia to Pres Xi.

many people are glad Maduro is gone.

Too bad that the Maduro government and the Maduro armed forces are still in control.

No one, NO ONE, thinks that Donald Trump is a good man.

They see him as they do Maduro.

Everyone is waiting for Trump to screw up.

We both know that's happening as we speak

When Trump fails, or is kidnapped or assassinated, there will also be "massive celebrations around the world".

And they are busy arresting anyone thought to have aided and abetted what happened to Venezuela.

But Donald Trump is in charge of the place.
