More: CNN ANCHOR BRIANNA KEILAR: Happening now in the House investigation into Jeffrey Epstein, testimony from Epstein's longtime accountant Richard Kahn. He's being deposed behind closed doors today.

The House Oversight Chairman calls Kahn a, quote, "big witness.".

Lawmakers were expected to ask him, among other things, how Epstein accumulated his vast wealth and how he spent it.

Moments ago, a member of the House committee said Kahn provided some new information about the system that enabled Epstein to commit his crimes. The congressman also saying this:

REPRESENTATIVE SUHAS SUBRAMANYAM (D-VA): We can't get into the details of everything that was said, but one of the things that we did learn was that there was another head of state that was mentioned as having financial transactions with Jeffrey Epstein. Not an American one.

And then another person who was an accuser of Donald Trump was given a settlement by Jeffrey Epstein's estate. We did confirm that.

Merritt Garland didn't prosecute.

Epstein and Maxwell are the only major players.

Who else did the DOJ prosecute?

Either negligent or complicit or there's no evidence to convict anyone else.

Which is it?

Mr Cadenhead, do you refuse to remove libelous Legallyyourdead?

Please remove the abusive statement.

I'd prefer he removed all the advertisements.

They're absolutely frustrating.

You can plonk LYD if you want.

I spend half the time on the DR closing adds and refreshing the page because the adds mess them up and then there's accidentally clicking on them when trying to close them that redirects me to a completely different page altogether.

It's ------- aggressive and aggravating.

@#2 ... Follow the money ...

Yup.

And, in this instance, I can start to see why Mr Epstein may have paid off a Trump accuser.

Possibly to protect someone he called a friend?

@#3 ... Epstein and Maxwell are the only major players. ...

Are they?

... Who else did the DOJ prosecute?

Either negligent or complicit or there's no evidence to convict anyone else.

Which is it? ...

Only the latter is a reason not to prosecute.

But your current alias' menu of selections omits a big one ...

~protection of uber-wealthy people.~

Which is why MAGA, and Pres Trump during his campaign, have strove to have the Epstein files released. Those Democrat Elites. But then it seems to have turned out that not only Democrats may have been mentioned. And suddenly, the MAGA chorus changed ...

But now, that the reality of the Epstein files seems to be coming to light, Pres Trump has pivoted from his campaign promises, to trying to bury them ...

So maybe, instead of looking at the past, your current alias should look at the present and ask why Pres Trump seems to be trying to bury the Epstein files.

I seem to remember another Dem rep (Schiff) claiming he had all of the receipts for Russiagate and never produced squat.

I've been told by a number of people on this site they assume ANYTHING coming from the Trump administration is a lie and refuse to accept it unless independently verified by at least two other independent sources. I think that is a reasonable approach and I use the same approach anytime a Democrat hurls some kind of accusation against a political opponent.

These receipts?

The Russian government conducted foreign electoral interference in the 2016 United States elections with the goals of sabotaging the presidential campaign of Hillary Clinton, boosting the presidential campaign of Donald Trump, and increasing political and social discord in the United States. According to the U.S. Intelligence Community (IC), the operation"code named "Project Lakhta"[3][4][5]"was ordered directly by Russian president Vladimir Putin.[6][7][8] The "hacking and disinformation campaign" to damage Clinton and help Trump became the "core of the scandal known as Russiagate".[9][10]
