A Minnesota county announced at press conference that it is investigating if the warrantless arrest of an immigrant by ICE could fit the legal definition of a kidnapping.

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- A Minnesota county is investigating the arrest of a Hmong American man by federal officers that was captured on video as a potential case of kidnapping, burglary and false imprisonment, officials announced Monday.

I posted about this story when it originally occurred. I called it a home invasion and kidnapping at that time (my text was edited when it was moved to the front page). I'm glad to see some local law enforcement is still willing to push back against the illegal actions of the Trump administration.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers bashed open the front door of Thao's St. Paul home at gunpoint -- without a warrant as far as Choi and Fletcher have been able to determine -- then led him outside in just his underwear and a blanket in freezing conditions.

They went to this guy's house looking for someone else. The person they were looking for was in jail, and had been in jail for over a year.

No warrant and exigent circumstances. No legal basis to break into his home or to arrest him. The way they forced him to stand in freezing temperatures in nothing more than his underwear should be considered torture.

In early April 2026, Sgt. Matthew Blank (23) and his wife, Annie Ramos (22), were at a military base visitor center (identified as Fort Polk, Louisiana, although they had traveled from the Houston, Texas area) to register her for a military ID and begin the spouse green card process.

During the registration process, CID agents were contacted, and she was subsequently taken into custody by ICE agents and placed in a detention facility.

Ramos, a Honduran native, had been brought to the U.S. as a toddler and had a pending DACA application and no criminal record, but was subject to an old removal order from 2005, reports say.

Only the worst of the worst!
