With Virginia on board, the National Popular Vote Compact is now enacted in states worth 222 electoral votes. Here's what that means. n.pr/41xl7iy

Assuming they ever get an electoral majority on board and the Trump/Dubbya SCOTUS lets it stand (Jill Stein/Ralph Nader 2028!) I wonder how wise it would be to put national elections into the hands of Red Staters who have no compunctions on committing voter fraud.

Texas joins the Compact and claims they have 200 million votes for Trump. What are you going to do about it?

And this former Postal Inspector and ex-CIA officer just got rid of the tax breaks that Confederate groups enjoyed in Virginia for decades. Link: www.nytimes.com

Time to scrap the antiquated electoral college. Land should not have more electoral power than humans.

Once again, what do you do if Texas then finds 200 million votes for Trump next election?

Repubicans can't allow something like this to pass, because they'd never win another election if they do it...

Nope. States decide how they choose their electors.

Racist and xenophobic rural voters have way too much power, and they've cast off urban centers as "hellholes". They don't want to improve society, they want their money, and come up with any excuse to look the other way when masses of people are neglected. "Not my problem", they say, when they contribute toward the problem with their votes to strip away any and all tax dollars that go toward actually improving the "hellholes".

And when you ask them about improving, they only think of displacing the poor to some other godforsaken parts. They think about locking up offenders in punishment prisons forever, no rehabilitation. Or more police, and more authorization to use brute force. If they kill anyone, well, "they weren't a contributing member of society anyway, so good riddance."

It's an "out of sight, out of mind" mentality. And it's wrong, definitely not "Christlike". And they still think of themselves as "good Christians"
